India A team's tour of South Africa

Iyer, Pandey, Axar, Chahal and Thakur must definitely be drafted into the senior team by all means. Time to say goodbye to Yuvraj, Ashwin, Jadeja and Umesh from limited overs teams.

Pant and Krunal (although both need improvement) should also be given a genuine opportunity to compete against Dhoni and Jadhav.

PERFORMANCE OF OUR BATSMEN IN THE 50-OVER TOURNAMENT

Pandey --  55.  41*.  86*.  93*.  32*

Iyer     --  0.  20.  44.  9.  140* ( F )

Pant    --  10.  17*.  60.  20.  DNB ( F )

Shankar -- . 18*.  0.  72 ( F )

Samson --  7.  10.  68.  12* ( F )

Krunal --    0.  48.  25  --- last 2 innings at very high SR of 180+

Nair   --   25.  57.  9.  4 ( F )

Pandey has been superb and very consistent.  Always played well under pressure.

Iyer steals the show in the crucial final. Has another good knock earlier.

Shankar has been good. Shows up in the final match.

Krunal has played a couple of very high SR knocks at the end.

Pant and Samson have been average.

Nair has disappointed with 3 failures in 4 innings.

Nair has been failing for a while now and infact have never seen him do well in any A tours both in Limited overs and 4-day games.

Thakur has been exceptional and needs to be given chance in senior team asap. Bumrah, Bhuvi, Shami and Thakur would be top 4 pacers for LOIs.

For ODIs --

Batsmen -- Pandey, Iyer, Pant

All-rounders -- Shankar, Krunal

Spinners --Chahal, Axar

Pacer --Thakur

are probably ready for the national team

They should be tried by rotation in the bilateral ODIs.

This is a seriously good A team tbh

The selectors deserve to be congratulated  for picking this A team.

Easily the best 50-over India A team in a long time.

I dnt see a 6th bowler in ur side, a 6th bowler is very important. Pandya is really good but on many days his lack of exp will hurt us and then our others bowlers like Umesh, ashwin will have many off days . Even someone like Kuldeep will also be taken apart in many games specially when opposition will sought him out

U also are putting jadhav a option at 7 , how will u complete ur 50 overs specially of one bowlers has an off day

Anyone who saw the game how was kaul perfomance??? Can he be an option for t20 ??

The guy looks very innocuous whenever I seem him but always ends up taking wickets. Maybe he has got some variations like Unadkat, don't know :p:

He is like the Bhuwneshwar Kumar of 3 years ago. He did very well with the new ball when he was able to seam it, but had his ass handed to him with the old ball.

Siraj and Nadeem have picked up 2 wickets each.

Others have been wicket-less today.

Looks like SA has been providing us with slow tracks, in both one day and 4-day matches,  so that our A team does not get practice on typical SA pitches.    : (

Disappointing but not surprising. S.A. Are the uncontested pitch doctoring champions, dating back to the 90s.

Yet people complain of the pitches in Indian subcontinent.
