rubbish ,baseball pitchers are round arm they chuck all the time, akhtar with clean action could bowl upto 95-96mph, but he did chuck to get up to 100 miles post 2000.

They dont have to run 25-30 yards to deliver the ball with follow-through. Try doing that at as quick as you can and you will lose all control. Regarding chucking, even likes of Mcgrath, Gillespie, Ambrose chucked.

what? any one can pick up a ball and try it themselves to check if you can throw with a round arm action or not ,chucking implies significant chucking , not that little extension of the elbow as is observed for any bowler under lab conditions .

yes, you an throw but how successfully and accurately you can do it after running 25 meters in runup is the question and also you have to land on the pitch with a jump. There is a reason baseball pitchers dont run and only throw from a stationery position. Regarding chucking, no, that was not just extension of the elbow. All these bowlers were found crossing the limit that was allowed and after that ICC decided to increase the limit in early 2000s.

Top 3 wickets at 150, 151 and 152 kph.

How many times bowlers have got multiple wickets at 150+ speeds in a match?

Top class spell that but wasnt his fastest , definitely one of the best though.

This i believe is the fastest spell of bowling ever in a test match . Wicket number 1 , 3 and 4 with bowls clocking at 157 , 157 and 156 kph respectively .

Ironically i always found his action prior to the remodling a lot smoother and natural . He was a sight to behold in the 99 worldcup .

Those calling him a chucker know nothing about the laws and the story at the time . Dont want to get into a pointless discussion when the man is happily retired already .

Improved fitness levels of batsmen have contributed significantly.  Their reaction times have reduced.

In the '80s and '90s, only the naturally talented like Gavaskar, Tendulkar or Dravid could play genuine pace.  Now, even normal batters are trained to react to high pace.  Practicing against bowling machines delivering at 145 K or more, practicing with bowlers delivering with artificially long limbs and getting bounce, playing a lot of T20s and getting practice against quick yorkers day in and day out..... have all contributed to this.

We can even say the same for fast bowlers. In early 2000's there were only 3-4 fast bowlers who could maintain 140+ speeds in a 10 over spell. Shane Bond, Lee and Akhtar could do that, when an Indian bowler bowled a delivery above 140 kph we would all go crazy and call him a future great :cantstop:. Today we have so many bowlers who can maintain 140+ speeds, it's a great thing but then we now wonder what should we get excited about? Hitting sixes and bowling fast are so common today!

Find a bowler like Akhtar then talk

Akhtar running in and rattling the stumps was the best sight for me in cricket. I still visit youtube to see akhtar's yorkers or spells so many times

Intially i use to think he is a dramebaaz but when i there were enough evidences about his knee issue, my respect for him grew

Say watever, cricket misses the fast bowler rivalries of akhtar vs bond vs lee .
