What Akthar ?

he had hyper-extension, was not a chucker. Also, like you cant chuck when bowling leg spin, same way, it is difficult to chuck when bowling with round arm action. Mostly bowlers who bowl front-on or semi-side-on have the propensity to chuck even if unknowingly.

Definitely the most exciting bowler to watch.

There were times when you could sense fear in the batsmen's eyes LOL Ganguly for example. Was fun to watch.
Brett Lee at his peak and MJ came close.

There never was and never will be anyone like Shoaib Akhtar. He gave a new life to fast bowling and fast bowlers. And all the people who keep on harping that Thommo was faster or Tyson was faster, I honestly think there never was and never will be someone as fast as Akhtar

He chucked clearly. No two ways about it. However, it's difficult to bowl at this pace even while chucking.

Even McGrath was found to be chucking.

He did have hyper extension, but he did chuck at different times of the game according to the situation of the game in different spells.

Most times he wasn't a chucker, but I still have my doubts about the ball which Tendulkar got out on in 2003 world cup game to him. That looked chuck to me.

Like I will say again, he wasn't a regular chucker but did chuck at different times of the game.

Questionable action..  Sure Pakistani might have hyper extension etc etc or whatever but then they get smacked around or things are not going their way they will start faking injuries(Amir,Imad Wasim),Chucking(Shoaib,Akmal,Afridi), Tampering(pretty much every Pak bowler in the last 40 years)

so yeah excuse me se me for not being impressed

Very underrated for his intelligence. He was clever and knew how to make use of his strengths. That's what I like about Shoaib, Wasim, waqar, Asif is that they took almost no time to mature. They played a few games and were already knowledgeable about working batsmen out. Comparatively Zak and Sri only gained maturity about Thier strengths only in the last 1/3rd of their careers. I feel amir is also like the above 4 but not as talented though.

once you chuck your pace can only be compared with baseball pitching.

15 years ago batsmen would get hurried by any delivery at 140 kph and above. Today batsmen play 145 kph deliveries as if it's medium pace, and no signficant changes have been made in protection gear since that time. Batsmen are given such advanced level of training that the fear of pace has gone.

Improved fitness levels of batsmen have contributed significantly.  Their reaction times have reduced.

In the '80s and '90s, only the naturally talented like Gavaskar, Tendulkar or Dravid could play genuine pace.  Now, even normal batters are trained to react to high pace.  Practicing against bowling machines delivering at 145 K or more, practicing with bowlers delivering with artificially long limbs and getting bounce, playing a lot of T20s and getting practice against quick yorkers day in and day out..... have all contributed to this.
