The answer is yes for both the questions. I can still open the google cache of ICF's page with the entire article. I would suggest removing the link from all the posts in this thread. I used to post articles with highlighted sections so that people could read and comment on what i found interesting. Rest assured i won't do that now. And it is a post by nalanda aka scorpio that caused the problem. So it is not me who brought the website down.

I've been asking for people to quote posts which aren't written by them. It's just a simple etiquette to follow - Is the content yours? No, quote the text and link to it. Apparently, posters can only learn this the hard way.

I've been advocating quote and link forever, but people simply don't understand the need to respect others' intellectual property rights. The delay in taking down the article by ICF upon the author's request is what's likely that caused the fuss. Nevertheless, it's the norm to provide a link to the source.

Goes on to show how much addicted we are to the internet and forums. I think everyone should read the announcement and follow what king said. Imagine the site was down during World cup. We should technically provide contact email for such complaints. I'll incorporate that along with TOS that should be accessible if such a case arises again in future. I'll have to say there is no privacy anymore, the author dug up my cell phone number somehow which is even unknown to local folks and left a VM/Txt.

Images are not copied from other sites. We just use URL of the images to embed it here except when we are attaching the image itself. However it will be better if we just use URL and not embed the pics.

This is still up for debate but in time being do not post entire article without quotes With quote and link it's ok but I feel it's best that we just highlight important part and encourage users to read rest on site where it's from ..

I too dug up your cell phone number once when ICF was down for a week or so.Didnt have the guts to call you. Btw i thought Shwetabh had mailed you which is why you got on to fix the site.
