Starc

Hazlewood

Pat Cummins

Coulter Nile/some other pacer in form

Zampa

Good luck facing this attack in a clutch game.

Spot on. In general Aussies are the toughest team to face in crunch matches. You need something special even to knock out mediocre Aussie teams in knockout matches of WCs. In 2011 they fielded a weak team(relative to their high standards) in the SC, but the best team of that tournament had to play its best match in the tournament to knock them out in the QF. If not for that epic Yuvi-Raina partnership we would have lost that match. Aravinda had to play an ATG, if not the GOAT WC knock in the 1996 F to beat Aussies. WI needed a Clive Lloyd special and 4 direct hits from Viv to beat Aus by 5 runs in the 1975 finals. Conclusion:You need ATG performances to beat the Aussies in the business end of WCs. If India were to face Aus in 2019 SF/F I expect Aussies to crush us mercilessly like they did in 2015 SF. That bowling lineup you posted is downright scary, I feel sorry for the teams that have to come up against a full fledged Aussie attack in the future.

There was a poster called Ram who kept saying that India would lose to Aus in 2015 SF.

When asked why, he replied that in 2011, India fielded its best EVER ODI team and faced one of Aus's worst WC ODI teams and still had to huff and puff to win that game AT THEIR HOME. When that's the case, what hope does India have against a rampaging Aussies in their home?

One of the most powerful posts I have ever read in ICF. It was so painful because it was so true.

When the SF day arrived, we were duly and mercilessly thrashed.

Why are you talking about 2011 team in 2017 ? Is this your definition of "sensible" ?

They will play 4 specialist bowlers and Stoinis

Not 5 specialist bowlers

It will be

Starc

Hazlewood

Cummins / Faulkner

Zampa / Agar

Stoinis

Good point.

Or they can also go for 4 pacers like I mentioned and have Maxwell/Faulkner share the rest 10 overs if Zampa doesn't keep performing.

Though not exactly related to this topic, one issue I want to discuss about the bolded line is ....

India now has a much more balanced bowling attack in all formats compared to any time in our history .... our ODI batting may have some weaknesses but it is the strong bowling attacks which are the strongest teams.

p.s - I know the above statement was made in 2015 and was relevant then .... just discussing the impact of strong bowling attacks

If you think Aus in 2011 had one of their worst ODI teams, you are even dumber than I thought. You are not even in the same ball park as being sensible.

This thread is about Australia's recent performance in ODIs and not what happened in 2011 or 2015. Come back when you comprehend that simple piece of information, dumbass.

Haha.....this is what happens when people with poor comprehension skills try to act smart and get owned and then hav to change goalposts to shift to a related discussion.

Happens.
