Yes Kuldeep has potential but he is too raw right now. Very lose. He needs more domestic exposure at this point. Axar did better in both ODIs. Ten runs more and this game was over. He conceded under 6 RPO today.

but you are purely saying this on conjecture , one can assume he could have taken a hattrick as well, you are selling him short based on one game on a venue where it is difficult to defend

I have noticed you always have soft spot for Axar.. Axar is garbage and has no future rather than being perennially mediocre. Yes he was not bad today though.

That's exactly what people thought about Jadeja when he first came on the scene. I'm sure not one ICF expert ever predicted that he'd evolve into the Test bowler that he has now become.

Axar and Kuldeep are both still very young and raw. Both have shown potential as bowlers. If it's of any merit, Axar is the only bowler who managed to dismiss Latham this series.

Just be honest. Has Jadeja really returned even 50% as has been invested in him. It's only now he is no 1 test bowler after a very very long time. That too he is too no great on non helpful conditions. Better than Ashwin when no help but nothing much to brag about.

Not to mention he is still a poor ODI player compared to amount of years and matches being wasted on him

One cannot always be on a mission to turn around mediocre players. Why not start with those who have a good headstart as far as potential is concern?

I would say yes. He was our MVP during the CT 2013, a tournament where we brushed aside every team that we played. He has also been one of the key performers and has contributed big time to India becoming the number one test team for the last two years. That's a decent enough ROI. He's had a pretty good career, considering how mediocre he was for the first 4-5 seasons of his international career.

He's pretty much on the fringes in LOI cricket now, with Axar having replaced him on merit. I think Axar has the potential to become a good bowling all-rounder in LOIs for India at number 8 or 9. He has to improve his batting though.

The pitches in CT 2013 were very amenable to Jaddu's style of bowling. However, I do believe he was contributed sufficiently to our wins in Tests.

Regarding Axar, he is a specialist bowler - his "batting" is in the same league as a Srinath or a Zaheer.
