Agree. Their batting minus Warner and Smith is quite average. Warner isn't that good in SC. Smithy might be a DRS cheat, but he's a brilliant batsman.

Smith is carrying this line up. Warner failed in the first part of the series. Only Marsh brothers played out of the blue knocks as their careers were on line also. This line up is pretty fragile barring Smith at this time and is still rebuilding. Smith has been an exceptional performer and is just saving the batting single-handedly . Best in the world.

 

This is where Kohli needs to lead from the front if our other two champs -Pujara or Rahane fail in South Africa, England or Australia. Therw will be moments where other key test performed like Vijay might not have a run and isn’t able to provide the start like he has done earlier, that is where Kohli has to show that he can rebuild the innings even after little collapse on the other end. 

Aso, Smith’s okayish captaincy on field makes up for his class batting in Test as he keeps bailing them put of trouble.

 

His confidence is sky high right now whenever he comes into face the first ball.
