zen Posted October 9, 2024 Posted October 9, 2024 (edited) The drawbacks of Ind’s current system is highlighted by the battle b/w Hindi speakers and South Indian languages speakers. Now we are getting into which culture is more superior (would like to read respective PoV). What India probably needs is a highly federal structure of government, where the Center is responsible for defence, international relations, etc. - basically outside relations and the big picture areas including the general governance of the region. The states should (among others things): * Craft their own economic policies * Be responsible for implementing and collecting taxes, while giving a small percentage to the Center * Safe guard and promote their culture including language * Law and order * Field their own sports teams at international level if they prefer For money and releated policies, one can use a system similar to Euro. Like in EU, people in the India region can move around the area, work, live, etc., without any major restrictions per the system in place in the state of their residence. Only special status states such as Kashmir, Arunachal, etc. should be directly under the Center. There could even be a new way to elect the central government. Which is why I usually say (at least in the context of India) that too feel like a community: Religion/culture (includes language) > Region > Nation. The problem arises when we use the “nation” to distort other regions and their culture, including by unnecessarily attempting to become homogeneous. Most folks view people who are not from their region as an outsider despite them sharing the “Indian” tag. Hardcore nationalism is not for India. Unfortunately, by the time people realize that, it could be too late - some cultures could get destroyed or diluted, India could break based on cultural and religious affiliation, …, …, … Edited October 9, 2024 by zen
zen Posted October 9, 2024 Posted October 9, 2024 (edited) If we look at the region’s history, First, it was under various dynasties and also filled with relatively small nation-states. Second, it was under the British rule for around 200 years. Third, the current state, which could again be a relatively temporary state (maybe 125-150 years of which some 70 odd years have already gone) till the region eventually heads where it is supposed to be. Fourth, the highly federal structure. Fifth, … … … Edited October 9, 2024 by zen

If you mean Islamic culture, I agree, that North India has more influence of Islamists - ghunghat, dress sense , language, etc. But if you mean some Aryan-Dravidian BS , and because of that If you think that's superior, then you are grossly wrong. If your culture had taught you that, you wouldn't have made that mistake in the first place.

So, where does this idea of superiority even come from? Lol. History didn't start 1000 years ago, inbred southie. Our cultural superiority comes from having superior results for 80% of history until your abrahamic barbarians came. We are culturally superior to the west, as demonstrated by the fact that westerners cant compete with Indians in any metric for all the Indians in the west. Since values is product of culture, our values yeild superior result than your western atheist masters in their own lands.

Pity we didnt civilize you well enough to get rid of inbreeding of the southies. The south became south due to the culture of the north. The basis of southern power, was always hinduism and the basis of Chola imperial power was bringing back ganga water to the south. Ie, north is the beating heart of indian culture and its center. Two-bit inbred southies peddling nonsense dravidian theories wont change that at the eve of your linguistic extinction.

If you think that Harshvardhan or Changradupta Maurya or Samudragupta followed entirely different culture than that of Pulkeshin or Rajendra Chola, then you're mistaken. Whatever changes/differences you see in North is due to constant invasions from external forces. North has always been at the cross roads, fighting and resisting the forces for centuries, which converted the whole Persian Empire in mere 20 years. Had North not fought and resisted the invading forces. The culture of South would haven't been preserved. There why there are still ancient temples intact in South.

We may practice different traditions, worship different gods, speak different language. But our core values are same.
