vvvslaxman
Where do BRC go from here? Do they have to win both games or one game with better NRR is enough?

Sachinism
"He [Kallis] has won us a couple of games earlier but today he got stuck," Kumble said after the game. "He should have gone after the bowling in the first six overs but it did not happen today. He should have made a move-on which did not happen today and that put pressure on the guys coming in. You can't expect someone like Robin [uthappa] to see you through [every time]."
bunny
Even after all the gloom and doom surrounding the last few games, we just have to beat RR to get through. (Note that we have a better NRR than DD, DC, RR and KKR, and once we beat RR none of the 4 teams (+ KXIP) can win more than 7 games. Of course this assumes that we wont lose badly to MI). Lose against RR and we will have to beat MI, and hope that either KKR defeats RR or DD beats either Chennai or DC.
bunny
My calculations show that as batsmen Uthappa and Kohli are MVPs followed by Pietersen (though he has played only 3 games), and then a distant Kallis and Dravid. Pandey, Taylor, White, Morgan and Boucher have nothing to be proud of though some of them havent played a lot. With regards to bowling, Kumble has been exceptional (even more so than Uthappa has been as a batsman), followed by a distant Steyn (interestingly though he has been more valuable than Kallis has been as a batsman). Steyn is prone to poor performances though. P Kumar should be out of the lineup or should complete his quota within the first 10 overs. Kallis shouldnt be bowling at all (though this is only possible if BRC plays 5 bowlers). He has been more harmful as a bowler than useful as a batsman (overall contribution has been -ve). V Kumar has been ordinary though better than PK. This tells me we need to play one of Apanna/Merwe in every match. Pietersen should be in, and one of White/Taylor should be dropped. the fortunes of BRC have revolved around Steyn and Kallis. In all the losses (barring one in which Steyn didnt play), their poor performances invariably lead to losses.
