To bowl with the same control he did vs WI in the last test. But expectedly he’s failed again. Someone should ask Kohli/Shastri after the match about the Bhuvi vs Umesh choice and what was their thinking. I still believe 4 pacers was the right choice here, Umesh crumbled. Link to comment

Team management thought the selected 4 bowlers were most suited for this pitch and went along with it. Why is that difficult to understand? Because the 4 bowlers were clearly "not best suited" for this pitch. In Aussie test cricket you have to assume you will be bowling 90+ overs per innings. 4 pacers and a part-timers is a massive gamble because bowling them that much almost guarantees that they will get tired and start bowling crap, and over-rates become difficult to manage as well. Besides, Given the nature of the Perth wicket, and the confirmed weather forecast with the heat, meant that the wicket would dry out and provide some assistance to spin. This is not rocket science - claiming that we needed 4 pacers on this track is not just hind-sight, its pure ignorance. prasen82 1 Link to comment

He is no astrologer to predict Umesh would bowl this worse or else why would he go with him? As I said, poor management don't have the same luxury of hindsight like we do. If kohli doesn't know this about yadav after so many years he should resign immediately GoldenSun 1 Link to comment
