Rajsthan's Kanishka who is IIT bombay Alumni topped exam in fiirst attempt.While the most nauseating thing about it's reporting was that every news channel was highlighting one fact only that ,''He credits this success to his GF.'' I mean what is wrong with our media? He is 26 year old,Isn't he supposed to have gf? Or our preconceived notion-"Achhe bachhe aisa nahi karte" was the reason to highlight that? Even twitter trolls were circulating some comical tweets. Why so much emphasis on his GF ?? They crossed the limits when they were making reports on"Girlfriend ho to aisi" with his girlfriend's pic on display which they might have got from social media. Mariyam Posted April 11, 2019 Share Posted April 11, 2019 I think the media is reporting this because it would be the first time that a topper has thanked his/her girlfriend/boyfriend. The entire idea that support/unconditional love can come from a girlfriend/boyfriend seems like an alien notion to our society in general. The term 'girlfriend' if replaced by fiance/to be fiance wouldn't have gotten any media eyeballs.
