Did his job better than everyone in the game vs Afghanistan, the first real opportunity to bat that he got. He could be a good number 4 for us in case of early wickets. He has batted well with Kohli multiple times, especially during crisis and should be sent at 4 ahead of Shankar (unless we pick Pant for Shankar, in which case Dhoni should move to 4), Jadhav at 5, Pant at 6 and Pandya at 7.

this is by no means our worst batting lineup. Every single WC squad prior to 1996 had a worse batting lineup than this one to begin with. and even the 1996 and 2015 ones had some serious flaws.

Only two things left to be done on this forum for next two days.

1. Praise Dhoni to tick of Indian posters

2. Accept we lost game on purpose to tick off Pak posters

It's Kohli and Sharma at the top and Hardik in the late middle order. Everyone else is making up the numbers

It's literally a two man batting line up. Pandya can contribute a quickfire 20-40 and that's it.

 

The tail is definitely the worst out of the top teams. I'm glad that India are a good fielding side nowadays but their attitude towards accepting poor batting from tailenders is unacceptable. Even Kumble and Srinath could swing their bat a bit back in the day.

1992 had better lineup.
