Erm what was the point of selecting Dinesh Karthik?

 

Been around for years doing very little, then selected for the 2019 WC for no real sporting reason. 

 

When injuries occur other players on standby are called up instead and play ahead for him. Then when he does play he does nothing, no aggression, no intent, no real identity.

 

Is he a consolidator in the middle order or big hitter in the lower order?

 

Muddled thinking and muddled selection. Which poses the question who exactly backed his selection?

Kohli believed he was an experienced player who can handle pressure situations really well he opted for Dk over Pant initially. Incredible isn’t it some one who choked massively at international level for 15 years came back in the team.
