What sort of message is given to young players when the captain is crying and begging for Has-Beens to return?

All that is for the cameras. Has done this with Pujara, Rahane, Rayudu, Pandey, Iyer, Siraj, Pant himself. all were dropped soon after

Are you seriously this naive? Common sense will tell you that there is not enough time for a new keeper except Pant to be groomed before t20 WC. The agenda is clear, you discredit Pant, put pressure on him and drop him just before wt20. And then only option left would be to ask for experience over new comers at last moment and get Dhoni in.

 

They will make statements like we have back up keepers but they haven't played enough and Dhoni has experience. Dhoni wanted to go with a bang in 2019 wc but since that didnt happen t20wc is next. Meanwhile toll he plays t20 his ipl brand will just increase
