Yup its one of those out of box ideas again for which shardul has to show more with bat specially against better attacks. Since at 7 hardly 5-10 balls are left in t20.

Also thakur is better t20 batsman n bowler then jadeja thats how **** has been jadeja in t20s

Sundar is another option obv better batsman then thakur but at 7 in t20 slogging is more needed

I think the issue with Sundar, the lower-middle order batsman, is that he hardly gets to bat and looks a bit rusty.

Gowtham but i think chahar n thakur battings is better against international bowlers then him.

End overs will be bowled by Seamers. So we need hitters who can smash seamers. We don't need spinner killer which is what Pandya and Suresh Iyer are.

The reason why I like a spinner cum big hitter at 7 is that it allows us to play 3 specialist pacers.

 

Did not like it when Hardik was our 3rd pacer in the WC in England and Shami had to sit out in the SF.

 

With the World T20 coming up in Australia, I would love it if we try someone like Gowtham too at 7.

 

P.S -- Do you think that Shardul can bat at 7 and we can play Bumrah, Saini and Kul-Cha  ?  Or maybe Jadeja at 8 in place of Chahal  ?

Pandya is good at hiiting pacers.

I think I will retain this squad for next few matches with Pandya coming in for Jadeja and Rohit coming in for Dhawan. Also both Samson and Pandey is redundant and one of them can be replaced by a fast bowler. Kohli can also open if required in T20. And then rotate the players across matches to see how combinations work out. We don't need 4 spinners for NZ series and Australia.

For strange reasons he does that more in the IPL. In internationals apart from occasional hits, he is not the same as he is against spinners.

Coz his IPL Side MI most players play quick and they give him more promotion

I would like to see Manish in 50 overs now vs Aus in place of Kedar . Seems in fine form this season .

Risk is no 6th bowling option , but worth taking the risk as we need batting deep against quality  AUS  attack. 

Treat Iyer as emergency  option.

Jadeja at 7, Shardul at 8 ... or the other way round ... 5 proper bowlers ... Iyer as backup bowler

 

Would allow Pandey to play.

If thakur continues his slogging in t20 in this fashion, I m afraid pandya might lose his spot.  Considering that thakur is a better bowler than Pandya any day.

I think it was gauti who said Pandya's place should not be guaranteed. Since Pandya has realized there are no all rounders, so he can take a long break and casually come back straight into the playing XI. There is no real motivation for him to come back into internationals. He has to earn his place. This is almost like a permanently free spot for him. Only Kohli , Bumrah, Rohit deserve that luxury. Not everyone else.

Thakur has 6 fifties in First Class and has a HS of 86.  His international cameos so far against England, Windies and SL are not flukes, by any means.
