putrevus Posted February 3, 2020 Posted February 3, 2020 (edited) If Rohit Sharma and Dhawan are hacks, what is KL ??? He has the most glaring technical defiencies both against spin and swing bowling. Rahul has to make most of his form and score big runs in odis.He has got himself out in couple of t20s. Nikola Posted February 3, 2020 Posted February 3, 2020 KL Rahul has been great in t20 formats but that doesn't means rohit and dhawan are hacks. Sharma has scored 28 century since 2015 in limited overs and second best is kohli with 22. Check dhawan's icc event records aswell.

Since 2013, both are on par (even if Virat's stats may look better) with each other and Rohit is tad better in ICC tournaments. Virat is probably quite ahead of Rohit in ODIs if you restrict only to bilateral series. Vijy 1

He is responding to a comment that was reeking nonsense (and hitting one's nerve). It is obvious, the post by him is made in an emotional way and not to be taken in literal way for debating. I hope you understand what I am trying to say. Will you ever say Rohit Sharma is a hack for whatever reason.

Sandeep99 Posted February 4, 2020 Posted February 4, 2020 Maxwell, hetmyer, pooran, Warner, Morgan, butter, finch, de kock, Williamson and of course Rohit are equally good and maybe some are better as well

Just cos sharma has been better marginally lately , you cannot just forget Virats impact on our results pretty much for a decade now

ICC tournaments both choke when it matters , yeah agree the gap is not as huge it was 12-18 months back ..but Virat will always be a league above unless he declines very fast . He has a shot at finishing off as greatest ODI batsmen , Sharma will never be close to that level .

I will say an analogy would be that from WC 99 until WC 03 Ganguly was on par with SRT as an ODI batsman. This is not to say that overall SRT is well above Ganguly but in terms of how valuable both are for the team there is not much that separates them. I agree Virat has a shot but if he has another middling performance in WC 23, he will only remain as the greatest ODI batsman of bilateral tournaments.
