Rasgulla Posted April 7, 2020 Posted April 7, 2020 We will classify them into 3 groups : Batsmen, All rounder and Bowlers. You can ONLY pick one for each and players that you saw in your lifetime. I ll start with the relevant teams anyway.. AUS Batsmen : Adam Gilchrist (Very tough to choose from that mighty AUS team but this is one guy i would pay to watch anyday) All-Rounder : Andrew Symonds (Sheer power and a very handy bowler, Very underrated but the guy was a proven match winner) Bowler: Glenn McGrath (Warne is another one that would have made this list since we are just going with one, I choose McGrath) ENG Batsmen : Kevin peterson (Prob one of the most misunderstood crickter out there mainly because of his "on your face" kind of attitude which can rub people in a wrong way. I have never seen anyone play Switch hit that effortlessly with a little dance ) All-Rounder : Bhen stokes ( Nothing but respect from getting beat in final over by Carlos to winning WC for them. That Ashes Test save was something special. He has future LEGEND written all over him) Bowler: Jimmy Anderson (Has many bunnies around the world... Nothing there to say) RSA Batsmen : ABD ( Real 360 player. Effortless sometimes just unbelievable. Superman! ) All-Rounder : Mighty Kallis ( Prob the BEST all-rounder i have ever witnessed. Only thing he is lacking was WC just like any RSA players. That's sad) Bowler: Dale "The Gunner" Steyn (My favourite Fast bowler of all time, Guy was almost untouchable at his peak. Played 3 formats for all those years and still active) NZ Batsmen : Brendon McCullum (Fearless, Dashing! Absolute treat to watch) All-Rounder : Scott Styris (I honestly can't remember any other good all-rounder from NZ, Hence him) Bowler: Trent Boult (Mr. Nice guy) SL Batsmen : Sanga ( There is something about Lefty's. Very elegant to watch. Class player!) All-Rounder : Sanath Jaysurya ( Best spinning all-rounder i have ever witnessed. I don't know where he generates that power from. An absolute machine!) Bowler: Malinga (Again this was a tough one between him and Muralitharan but Malinga has a edge for his match winning ability on big stage like IPL, T20 WC) PAK Batsmen : Inzi (Mr. Allu... Such a pain in the arse as an Indian fan. Salaaa never used to get out against us. Boys played well!) All-Rounder : (Don't have one) Bowler: Wasim Akram ( Unbelievable bowler Off and ON the field aswell) WI Batsmen : Lara (Tough one between Gayle and him but Lara is up there with the Best in the world) All-Rounder : Andre Russell (An absolute machine. What he does is beyond madness) Bowler: ( Sad i haven't witnessed any good bowlers in my lifetime from WI) You guys can do IND and other Teams if you want Let's see what ya got! zen Posted April 7, 2020 Posted April 7, 2020 There are 9 test playing counties + associates, so depending upon how many teams you pick, this can become a long list I do not have that many favorite cricketers but I respect a lot of good cricketers

Real McCoy Posted April 7, 2020 Posted April 7, 2020 (edited) Aus Batsmen - Mark Waugh - such a delight to watch in full flow Bowler - Close one between Mcgrath and Warne I'll go with Mcgrath. Dravid mentioned him playing back to a length delivery. Such bounce of a good length AR - probably Bichel he was good with the ball and proved more than useful with the bat Eng Bat - Michael Vaughan - very underrated played the Aussies well both home and away Bowl - Jimmy Andersen - He has proven to be a nightmare for touring sides in Eng and later in his career improved his away performances as well. He bowled well in India AR - Ben Stokes - He could take the game away with bat or ball Ind Bat - VVS - For someone said to be with less footwork, his timing and class hide the nerves of steel when it comes to 4th innings run chases. Also the 281 against all odds facing the legendary Aus attack Bowl - Srinath - for bowling his heart out on dead pitches and extracting whatever little he can and was the spear head for a long time. AR - Jaddu NZ Bat - Nathan Astle - Was the mainstay for NZ in the late 90s and early 00s Bowl - The name is Bond. Shane bond. Look at the SR and also watch Aus humiliated in their own home during their great era. Too bad NZ wasnt good enough to win any test series against them AR - Chris Cairns. Power hitter down the order (he hit a century against us batting at 6 in an ODI ) and useful with the ball with this variations. Pak Bat - Saeed Anwar - He doesnt waste time on the crease always takes the attack to the opposition. Azhar should be beaten with a stick for dropping him on 1 at Kolkata. Probably one of his match fixes He scored 188 Bowl - Shoaib Akhtar. Blistering pace with a run up from the inner circle AR - Abdul Razzaq - Lower order hitter who has contributed to their team's cause and could take wickets after the two Ws and Akhtar are seen through. There was no relief from the 4th and 5th bowler. SA Bat - ABDV - He is not just talented but can play different kind of innings based on the situation. He can play 140 off 60 balls in an ODI but can also grind out a 20 off 220 balls to save a test Bowl - Donald. I was thinking about Steyn who was exceptional but Donald was something else. He was white lightning and never felt comfortable watching him against Ind. He put the fear of God in batsmen's faces AR - Kallis. Can bat for longer periods of time and when Amla came along, he could play counter attacking innings also. He stood in front of us during the 2010 series which I felt we should have won. They were in front by 120 in the second innings with 6 wkts gone and they scored 350 with his counterattacking strokeplay. Is also useful as the 5th bowler so no respite for the opposition SL Bat - Sanga. Batting elegance and determination to keep on scoring with wickets falling at the other end Bowl - Murali. Wickets speak for themselves AR - Jayasuriya - He comes only second in batting during his time next to aravinda and can also bowl some lefties varying his pace and bowling his overs quick which built up the pressure on the opposition. He was Jaddu before Jaddu. also a very capable fielder. SL was the first team who focused on fielding drills more than Ind or Pak WI Bat - Lara - His batting had the flair of the carribean cricketers with high backlift and silky strokeplay which only underplayed his grit and determination to win as he did against the Aussies in 99 Ball - Ambrose - That glare. If only looks could kill, he was the one. His bowling was on target giving nothing away and always playing back on full balls AR - Andre Russell BD Bat - Mushy Ball - Rubel Hossain AR - Shakib Edited April 7, 2020 by Real McCoy Norman 1
