If he is almost 24 then that is the perfect age to bowl quick. The real reason is that he is coming back from injury. I didn't say his age maybe a couple of years more. To me, he looks fine for his age. He is actually not running in as good as he used to do. Being a hip dominant bowler, running in well, quicker, is very important for him, not so for likes of Nagarkoti and Kartik who both are knee dominants. Suhaan 1

Difference right now is Mavi gradually started bowling in June-July after recovering from stress fracture. Nagarkoti did that in December. So he was much more ready to play. Mavi would have missed IPL if it was played in April. He has suffered two back to back stress fractures in late 2018 and then in late 2019 but still hitting 140s, so, kudos to him. Both to me are serious talents and only thing that is hurdle is their short heights. Suhaan 1

While 3 months is a good enough time for any sportsperson to find his/her rhythm, lets keep our perspective drawn to whats on offer today. I am fully aware Mavi has touched 150 and that he has talents, he has looked all over the place and jaded. One could bowl at 135 and still look sharp. Mavi to me is lacking. And that has got nothing to do with him starting to bowl 3 months, 4 months prior. Its just the attitude. Suhaan, Mosher and express bowling 3

You realise during pandemic, they have hardly played much cricket and for guy who had barely bowled anything in two years, it takes months to get things back, your actions, your run-up back. You think he would started bowling full tilt immediately. It would have taken him more than a month before even bowling at full run-up let alone bowling at full tilt. Suhaan 1

Hardly any current India u19 cricketers really look overage.

For some reason, you are under the impression these guys would be sitting at home doing nothing. These are international players and their training schedule is nothing you can imagine. These guys will have separate bowling nets where they would practise even otherwise. However, there was no lockdown in june / july, so what are we talking about? express bowling 1
