SecondSlip Posted October 6, 2020 Posted October 6, 2020 Who else do we have other than the usual Jadeja, Axar, Washington and Krunal? Is anyone from domestic cricket knocking on the door? Do we have anyone else that is ready to join Team India other than these 4? Because frankly, none of these guys is international standards! Team India desperately needs a good spin-allrounder in the side that can bat good now that Hardik will cut down his bowling! None of the 4 players mentioned give me any confidence with their batting. That’s why I want to know if we have more options other than these! Stan AF 1
Ankit_sharma03 Posted October 6, 2020 Posted October 6, 2020 Shahbaz ahmed in RCB , similar to axar n jaddu only

Straight Drive Posted October 6, 2020 Posted October 6, 2020 (edited) With Pandya making comeback after injury and not bowling as of now as well as likely that his pace will be intentionally lesser , the need of finding another all rounder in LOI will gain attention in coming months. But there is a clear shortage of pace or spin bowling all rounder. That the T20i cup has been postponed, it gives some more time to have a look at other potential all rounders. Sean Bradley Posted October 6, 2020 Posted October 6, 2020 Washington sundar is the most promising one at the moment in the shorter format, needs to improve his batting though to make him more reliable. I am sure he will.

Team India needs an allrounder who can bat good at #7 and the four guys I have mentioned are not good enough to do that at the international level. The fact that Axar hasn’t played for India since 2017 and Krunal is yet to make his ODI debut shows that the selectors also agree with my point. Team India needs someone like Imad Wasim or even a Moeen Ali now that Hardik will cut down his bowling. He won’t be bowling 7-8 overs per game anymore, but will play as a batting allrounder who bats at #6 like Stokes and Stoinis!

Krunal is not ODI material As of now it will be jaddu and he isnt a bad option for 2023 wc which will be in india

Because Jadeja himself is not a match winner at #7 with the bat. He can’t hit big even if his life depended on it!

Majestic Posted October 6, 2020 Posted October 6, 2020 I thought about this more and came up with this XI. Can India not prepare to go with a XI like this or along this lines en-route to WC 2023? Rohit Sharma Prithvi Shaw/Shubhman Gill Virat Kohli(c) Shreyas Iyer KL Rahul(wkt) Hardik Pandya Ravindra Jadeja Washington Sundar Mohammad Shami/Navdeep Saini Yuzvendra Chahal Jasprit Bumrah Three fast bowlers (including Hardik), three spinners. Ofcourse, Pandya has to bowl to find a slot in the team. Stan AF 1
The Realist Posted October 6, 2020 Posted October 6, 2020 Cupboard is bare. Very little talent coming through.

Sundar, Pandya arent ODI potential as of yet ...both are t20 players Jadeja atleast can bowl full 10 overs and is an excellent fielder Samad is raw as of now also till hardik doesnt start bowling back full quota we cant think of batsman who can bowl a bit so samad, rana has no chance till hardik starts to bowl atleast 8 overs consistently

Lone Wolf Posted October 7, 2020 Posted October 7, 2020 Samad can actually develop into a superb option. Couple of IPL seasons & FC season & the guy will be ready.
