This was an accident as the fielder attempting to run out Vijay hit him in the head. I hope ICC gets proactive and ensure every batsmen wear helmets even when batting against spinners. Shudder to think what would have happened if he weren't wearing one.

Vijay also does that but he was wearing a helmet because he was facing Arshdeep who is a seamer. Thank god it didnt happen when he was facing a spinner. ICC should make it mandatory to wear helmets no matter who is bowling. But as usual ICC is like an Indian govt office. change comes after something happens rather than being proactive. I hope BCCI, IPL governing council and SRH petition ICC to make helmets mandatory no matter who is bowling. This will also promote BCCI's corporate social responsibility and can improve its good name. Other countries think BCCI is responsible for every evil thing in cricket Mariyam 1
