There was huge uproar back in 2011 when we got blanked 4-0,4-0 in England, Australia

But it gained momentum when we lost against England at home after 27 years

Team was said an Ageing XI by many pundits but it took a loss at home which made heads to ponder about the future

Same can be said about current side which is no way a young side most of them are above 30 or on verge of entering the 30s club,but no one seems interested about the future

We have seen A tours where so called next in line have been doing fine but what is the point of scheduling those A tours to SENA if they are not played in real one

Coming to the topic ,there is literally no opposition ,uproar against the current regime no one feels the heat,fans aren't able to reach out the admins in charge

What has Ganguly done since he took over?

I want the pre 2010s era back where ex cricketers used to come out in open on national tv and blasted the likes of Sachin,Dravid,Sehwag,Kumble ,Yuvi a strong opposite opinion is always welcome to make a positive change

I might be tempted to try the below in a future series (not based on FC #s but after watching the players play) 

 

Gaekwad - decent front and back foot game. Good temperament as well

 

Paddikal - a dark horse but appears to have the right frame of mind .... adds value with left-right opening combination 

 

Gill - at 3 .... slotting a new batsman in his natural position (top order player)

 

Kohli - still the best in country, along w/ Pujara. Playing sans captaincy pressure 

 

Pujara (c) - a test specialist so can focus on building the test team. Should be tasked to scout talent as well and strategize for all test series as he does not play other formats. At 5 to safeguard against a collapse and guide the tail (can swap position with Gill if required)

 

Pant - WK AR .... a left hander as well 

 

SDP - has the ingredients to be a match winner in tests as well 

 

Jadeja - a bowling  AR ... another left hander

Its a team which is a beast at home and utterly mediocre overseas.

 

Watch the same guys, Mayank and Shaw hit hundreds for fun at home. That old guy Rahane is the only one who doesn't perform both home and away and wasted his peak period like none ever did.

First of all India should kick out Shaw and Saha from the team. Should golden shake hand Saha and send Shaw to FC cricket for 3 year at least and if possible ask him to skip 1 or 2 IPL and go to County cricket where he could actually hone his skills (like Labuschagne). Saha should be asked to retire not only from International cricket but also all forms and should be allowed to play LPL, BPL etc. 

 

 

On the other hand, Yadav looked pathetic as well. India should say thank you very much to him as well and play Saini and Siraj in his place until Ishant gets fit. India needs to get Nagarkoti or Mavi soon in the team as well as they are decent bats and could add runs in the tail unlike Bumrah, Sharma or Shami

Im not saying about there show in home/overseas conditions be it for bowlers-batsmen

Its absolutely thinking about the future we have seen Shami getting out of series due to injury(which are part and parcel of the game)

Now we have been left with no option but to play Siraj/Saini(who are rookies in this format)

Same is with batsmen,we are surely going to play Gill going forward this series,if he fails agisnt this attack he will be called out in large by TM putting him under more pressure on such a tour

We need to slowly phase out many of them ,this needs planning

We have no backups for Shami- Bumrah

I get your point. Umesh Yadav is still a fantastic red bowl bowler and will continue to wreck havoc at home a month later. Same goes for Rohit Sharma, the batsman. 

 

Saha needs to be dropped now and full confidence should be shown on Pant now.

 

Siraj/Saini can be played at home for now alongside Yadav so that we can slowly start phasing out Ishant and Shami and maybe keep those guys only for overseas test matches as that can prolong their careers and give us more time for Saini and Siraj. Saini is also 28, so preferably one would expect that he should have been a finished product by now and start giving results rather than developing in international cricket.

 

In the batting department, one of Pujara or Rahane have to go now. We need to slot Gill in the middle order and give him few years of international experience batting alongside Kohli.

 

Vihari can be persisted or replaced with Pandya depending on whether latter has his heart on test cricket or not.

100% agreement.

But we can both dream,never gonna happen with this PR heavy power hungry captain and bewda .

I hope ganguly shows some spine and takes a tough stand.
