gattaca
Grated Srilanka bowlers are average. But on a spinning wicket he scored double and another century in second test. We will be with out Jadeja. It will be tough. They have new batsman Lawrence as well who is pretty good with back foot game against spin. Link to comment

Serpico
All 10 wickets in Sri Lankan first innings are taken by pacers. This is the first time in Galle's history, spinners couldn't take a single wicket in first innings.. that's how bad their spinners are. Not even remotely worried a Link to comment

Not even remotely worried a Embldeniya looks alright and even Perera bowled well in patches. I think Joe Root is in awesome form, double century in first test and unbeaten ton(so far) in 2nd test and also Jos Butler, Bairstow, Stokes are pretty decent against spin. So series against England certainly wont be easy. Link to comment

R!TTER
Just because SL is shite doesn't mean Eng cannot beat us, everyone remembers the Pak whitewash of Eng just after the Ind tour (of Eng in 2011) but what they fail to mention is that Eng lost all close tests to Chukmal & Rehman & IIRC in all of them Eng was batting last. You'd also do well to remember that Eng's comeback that series (2012 vs India) is arguably the best after our win down under, with Rahane. They lost two tosses in Mumbai & Kolkata & still won - Eng the only team to beat us after losing the toss last decade, they're also the only team with (multiple) batters good enough to play genuine test innings in India. New guy
Roots issue will be facing our pacers and not spinners. People keep forgetting it's our pacers who have dominated at home in last 5+ years Link to comment
R!TTER
Which pacers? Shami & Umesh are not playing, Ishant barely worth a mention in India & Bumrah's playing his first test - the test series is not a done deal as some of you are just assuming. That's exactly what happened to Oz down under. Link to comment

Lone Wolf
Series is gonna be tough & England are clearly shooting themselves in the leg if they are resting impact players like Buttler & Bairstow who both play spin well & can score at a fair clip. It's gonna be a batting shootout I reckon.. But Eng are not helping themselves with stupid selections. Sibley Burns Lawrence type guys will be no match to us but Stokes Buttler Bairstow & root will be. Horrible policy adopted by English selectors to rest impact players. Link to comment

As long as we beat them 2-zip or 3-1 I'm good, it's not our fault English selectors did a Kohli & decided to play roulette on unarguably the most difficult place to tour in the last 3 decades Link to comment

Bairstow used to be great but then did a KL and sacrificed test batting skills for LOIs. Honestly they are better off with a proper keeper considering their tail bats till 10 Link to comment
sage
Root's biggest problem was the mental block of failing to convert 50s. He's always looked very good. Now he seems to be getting in the groove and turning them into daddy hundreds Link to comment
Samcric
Wow, the hubris shown by a few fans in this thread actually reminds me of Aussies after Adelaide. England have prepared well for this India tour and they have a good team with Root in prime form. We should expect plenty of fight. Pratik77 1 Link to comment
