Coaches were getting praised but......

What’s up with these noballs. Natarajan had a problem, now in this game everyone seems to be over stepping.

Fielding continues to be a let down.

If you look at the batting everyone seems to be playing with their own flair, it’s not like Pujara has become Pant and Pant has become Pujara under the batting coach.

Maybe it’s just the players going their thing than these coaches :dontknow:

its mostly bowling coach and staff getting praises, because of their strategies in Australia

well this shouldn't be praise worthy usually, but our batsman don't get to play with their natural flair a lot of times.. they will get dropped for having slow strike rates in tests, accelerating when RR is up in LOIs etc. So the fact that they managed to confidently play like that in last series awed everyone

no what I mean is it isn’t anything pathbreaking the batting coach did either. One place we could have used his help which is pink ball under lights something we are not used to we know what happened.

I don’t see any special input either.

coach cant do miracle specially at this level. At the end it comes down to individual - guys like kohli sachin worked hard like crazy.

Coaches job is just fine tunning and keeping basic.

To change something as big a problem as lets say iyer short ball problem, rahane spin problem they need personal coaches who can work with them in off season for months and months coz their basic game has that issue. You cant change a players natural game in few months something he has done for 20 yrs. In international cricket , there is no time specially with so many formats. And an international coach has around 15-20 players to handle as well

most importantly  is batting coach is really capable of  providing a solution for some of the issues batsmen have ? Or is t just some throw downs and some shabash stuff?

What pedigree and past record shows about coach's credibility that too need to be looked into.

What is special input you need from coaches, they are coaches not magicians. If people expect unrealistic things it is not coaches who are at fault.

Rahane was listening to coaches and their plans. Did you see kohli ignore pant completely today about the review? I can guarantee he over rules them every time and forces them to follow his plans on players and approach

This no ball thing has been a problem since the third umps took over the decision to adjudicate them. Even then, I didn't notice natarajan, bumrah or anyone bowl noballs at this frequency in IPL. this one is surely something that bowling coaches can control. And no team drops so many catches like India has done. England or Australia or any IPL franchises dont have such problems. So this is only India. bharat arun and sridhar should be under fire for this. Bombard that kutti story from ashwin featuring bharat arun and sridhar with these facts lol.

With regards to batting, every player have their own batting coaches and the batting coach of the indian team can only point out some chinks that can be worked over or help the lower order batting for tailenders. Head coach was supposedly an allrounder. He should have enough knowledge about all of them but maybe not have the time to work on everything. One thing is for sure though. As long as Kohli is captain, bewda will be coach and his buddies will be assistant coaches.
