That's because white ball doesn't swing much neither does it help spinners and gets old quickly. not good enough to last 80 overs

They wear colour Jerseys in ODIs and batsmen can miss the ball and get hurt

So, instead of the pink ball, why not change the color of the jersey from white to some other clearly distinguishable color for D/N test cricket and continue with a more heavily laquered white ball ?

White ball doesn’t last more than 37 overs remember. It had to be changed after 37 overs  in past. So they play with 2 new balls and it still gets soft. Now think of test match. Every 40 overs new ball will be needed then

This pink ball experiment won't last long.   Mark my words.   Pink ball  becomes too much of a lottery for the bowlers in certain conditions.

 

Better to use & change white ball after 37-40 overs  ( and have colored jersey for D/N Test cricket ) than use the pink ball which makes no sense.
