And huge following among illegal Bangladeshis...seen him speak their dialect, will pay dividends for this alliance in bordering places like Basirhat which house lakhs of Bangladeshi Ms.

TMC has been extremely biased towards Urdu speaking Muslims, and Left, Congress are too weak now. This guy caters to the Bengali speaking Muslim demography, especially youth. I haven't been to the state for 2 years now but my friends there say he is very popular even in rural areas. Remember he is a rabid cleric, and only recently has he entered the political arena. I remember sharing his inflammatory videos (context being how Bengal police didn't have balls to arrest him) in a couple of threads here, can't believe this piece of **** is a talking point in election season. He is one step short of being a full-blown jihadi. Pathetic to see such creatures in Indian politics.
