It is true that doubles is still 2nd tier but giving respect to top doubles players who have just achieved a whole lot is not a problem. Yes,

they should  ever be compared to singles performance as that is just a joke if it happens but guys like Paes have had the quickest hand on tour and had brilliant tennis wins in grandslamsmover other great teams like Bryams. Infact even at the age of 40,

which is not too long ago, many commies were calling Leander being still the quickest player on net across both singles and doubles.

 

My main grouse is that in India we give too much importance to doubles results. Remember a few years back when Somdev was having a decent run in singles, he didn't get 10% of the coverage our doubles stars got. That must change.

Qureshi was badmouthing India, Indian tennis players on his SM page a few months back. He spent decent amount of time in India in 2000s playing many tourneys and seemed to get along well with our guys, still so much bitterness. But maybe people like Rohan have thick skin

If true, its a poor choice by Rohan. Rohan needs to stop thinking about money because Qureshi is also thinking about it but still mouths off about Indian players. There are other players who can be a good doubles partner than this guy.

Ya not heard of this. I have seen him many times at US Open and Citi open, seems to be decent guy. But ya, that sucks if he is badmouthing us. 

 

IndianTennisDaily. which is the biggest Indian Tennis twitter/instagram ran a tennis show during Pandemic where Qureshi was invited many times on the show. Purav Raja, current Indian doubles player anchored it.

Doubles is more fun to play and least favorite to watch. I prefer singles for viewing and enjoying the athleticism of the players

It was when AITA was pushing for the Indo-Pak DC cup tie to be played in a neutral country, he called our players cowards, even 370 abrogation happened around that time and he also made posts about that. Played USO (I think...) with red arm band to 'protest' against Indian 'atrocities' in Kashmir. Remember that time post GOI's Kashmir move when it became a fad for leftists/Pakistanis to display all red on their twitter profile pics.  

 

He finally decided to withdraw (in his words 'boycott') from the DC fixture to protest ITF's decision of shifting the tie to Kazakhstan.

My recollection is that of his spat with Zeeshan Ali, who is Indian coach who doesn’t ever represent India well in interviews and one of the corrupt ones in ITA who has regularly been criticized by each Indian tennis player to have represented India or ever done anything or picked the right davis cup team when he was coach.

 

Qureshi did what most Pakistanis do I guess, so not too surprised. I do know he seems to get along well alll Indian tennis players, all of them actually. I think Queshi has a beef with only Zeeshan ali and not any players.

I only remember Zeeshan for being that cheap moron who knowingly violated the Wimbledon dress code for his sponsor to make a handful of extra bucks.  The one and only time he managed to qualify for the actual tournament.  

 

Don't know much about him, but if what you wrote is accurate, then he clearly represents that older era of coaches/former atheletes etc who weren't good enough apart from trying to milk the system for profit.
