Nader Shah story is very true....  Sikhs did managed to save hundreds women during their ambush attempts & Guerilla warfare tactics.

Hindu Rajput Kings were more or less meek spectators throughout their reign..  And never offered a helping hand to the North West.   Hence there was need for a common cause & Khalsa was born...  Hindus had a major contribution towards the Sikh army you can't deny that.

Even in Ranjit Singh's kingdom...  Dogras literally had highest positions..  And their betrayal & conspiracy with British eventually was the doom of Sikh Empire.

There is a Caste System among Sikhs too afaik.

It's a common evil nonetheless.

Look , this Sikhi as a different religion than the umbrella of sanatan dharma is a post 70s movement. RJB was reignited because some Nihang Sikhs installed Ram idols in Babri Masjid in 1858. Sangh chalaks protected Golden temple in 1947 when Muslims  had attacked GT during partition. After Nadir Shah crusade , it was Marathas that fought back the Punjab region which paved way for Ranjit Singh, the first Silhi kingdom in history. Throughout the Rajput time period, if Sikhs were warriors, and Rajputs were cowards, how come a Sikh empire was never possible . Guru Gobind’s panj pyaare were all Hindus from across India like Orissa, Bidar, etc. In fact, it is believed that Sikhism as what we know today, was formed as a warrior sect somewhat like Hindutva to protect sanatan dharma.

Yes, casteism is prevalent among modern day Sikhs. In US/UK,|Kaneda they have different gurdwaras for different Sikhs..

Agreed with everything...  But I won't give credit to Marathas as they were literally sent out flying by Afghans after Panipat..  (Before that they had northernmost point at even Peshawar)

It once again created a power vacuum in the region.  And the growing Afghan Power was a threat to EIC as well.

All these factors aided in  Ranjit Singh's rise.

Also Ramgarhiya Sikhs,  Chamar (present in Hindus) & Mazhabi Sikhs are mostly lower in status.  Tarkhans (Carpenter)  too.

I don't think they have a Varna system but they follow location or Birth place  terminology as well.

Khatris, Gujjars & even Punjabi Rajputs got divided as well.

Milkha Singh is a Rajput while Shoaib Akhtar is a Gujjar.

Yes, Marathas were definitely decimated after that ill-fated panipat war. When Nadir Shah lost control of Delhi and had to rush back to AFG, it’s still amazing how they regrouped and took control back of North Indian territory. By end of 18th century they had reduced the Moghul control only till Palam and had reduced the Moghul emperor to a Samant. But they lost to Brits in the 19th century is a tragedy of Indian history. From 1757 to 1857 -it took a 100 years for Brits to either have their own presidencies or have kings abdicate to them like Travancore, Mysore etc.
