He can bowl yorkers/low fulltosses and he should have stick to that. Want a larger sample size to form an opinion. Can he execute his yorkers regularly when under pressure ? Good middle over bowling is something we have seen in 2022 and now 2024. Edited April 13, 2024 by express bowling tapandrun and Mosher 2

But on his debut game as well, when he had to bowl to Stoinis. He bowled yorkers and finished the game at the first 3 balls itself. He has the ability, maybe rhythm an issue as he is not playing regularly from last 1.5 years. Edited April 13, 2024 by singhvivek141 express bowling 1
Nikhil_cric Posted April 13, 2024 Posted April 13, 2024 Sen bowled better today. Bowled a bit too full and straight at the end. He'll be better suited to ODI's anyway

Knowing which ball to bowl to which batter, taking into account the pitch, is very important. Does Sen have that quality ? He bowled the last 2 deliveries in the swinging arc of Livingstone. Not a smart thing to do. Mosher 1

He is not using bouncers too, used to get good bounce, maybe still not 100% confident. Couple of more games might clear the picture. Mosher and express bowling 2

cricspirit Posted April 13, 2024 Posted April 13, 2024 128K from Avesh. He has definitely slowed down overall from 2 seasons ago. His attitude Tell me that he has decided IPL is enough. Rest is bonus. singhvivek141 and express bowling 2

He was quick for just one season in 2018 but there too he slowed down mid season after getting belted by Butler He used to clock high 140s Mosher 1

Khaleel also seems to have similar outlook, he is only 2nd/3rd LAF bowler in Ind and still not pushing enough.. express bowling, singhvivek141 and cricspirit 3

express bowling Posted April 13, 2024 Author Posted April 13, 2024 Avesh could have been a good white ball bowler if he wasn't a lazy chap. He understands match situations and batters' weaknesses. Is not predictable at the death. But drops down to 130 - 137 k and stops hitting the deck hard a bit too often. At that pace, even a ball bowled in supposedly good areas can get hit for 4s and 6s unless it's a perfect yorker. And the slower balls are less of a variation. Mosher, Suhaan and cricspirit 3

Batters know they can get 3 boundaries, no one able to make a comeback, every 1 will get hit but need to bounce back. And in recent times all have started bowling wides/no-ball when under pressure rollingstoned 1
Lone Wolf Posted April 13, 2024 Posted April 13, 2024 Sen can be a gun test bowler... He has some attributes like Cummins... His fuller length is not at all floaty unlike Prasidh which is his biggest advantage. Can bowl at top of off with good accuracy unlike Tyagi and Umran. I am increasingly convinced with this guy... singhvivek141, Mosher, vishalvirsingh and 2 others 5

Sen's biggest issue is that he gives a boundary ball every other over. Doesn't have sufficient control over his lines even with the red ball. ( But then that is also the case with most of our so called accurate medium pacers like Mukesh ) Sen is like a taller Umesh with a better bouncer. Wants to bowl the channel and attack the stumps. Moves the ball away at pace, can seam the ball back in, can reverse the ball. Bowls some absolute jaffa ftom time to time and we would see some poor balls too. Sen will be handy on flat pitches in tests and ODIs where runs are being scored anyway but a sudden wicket or two can change things. While he may be a liability in low scoring matches. Not a T20I pacer yet. Edited April 13, 2024 by express bowling Mosher and rollingstoned 2

In T20 maybe there is lot more going on & he can lose his radar (everyone does) Strictly Test and ODI cricket wise he is the way to go.. express bowling and Mosher 2

I hope that is the case. But he had to cut down on pace to achieve control in his 2nd over. Hope that was a one off case. But then someone like a Mukesh has an ER 3.8 in tests, 10.4 in the IPL and 5.6 in ODIs .. so no harm in picking a genuine wicket taker like Sen in.his place. cricspirit Posted April 13, 2024 Posted April 13, 2024 Arshdeep is another bowler who has dropped 5K. He mostly bowls 135K zone these days. He was not consistent 140K plus before but now frequency is very low. He does not inspire confidence either first up or at the back end. But Khaleel is not way better overall. Not sure who will get selected. express bowling and Lord 2
