Don't look at just speed gun readings, he bowls a heavy ball and gets disconcerting bounce. Those are much more difficult to play than bowlers who register higher on the speed gun but bowl floating half volleys. He will settle down in high 120s-low 130s in the longer formats. Even with bounce that is too low unless you're prime McGrath or seam the ball like Philander. tapandrun, express bowling, Suhaan and 2 others 5

Bowlers who bang the ball in will always register lower on the speed gun.

Nabi was bowling 129 k to 135 k in a T20. While old and slower Shami is still hitting 140 k regularly. So I doubt we can compare Nabi with Shami. Wagner is the exception which doesn't disprove the rule, he had godly accuracy on his bouncers and stamina to boot. speed gun thing isn't true, it only measures speed out of the hand. You're talking about the velocity with which it reaches batsman which can seem lower. express bowling 1

The same bowlers bowling nasty bouncers clock much lower speeds.
express bowling Posted April 11 Author Posted April 11 Gurjapneet has a good short ball. Steeply bouncing at mid to high 130s. Bowls a heavy ball if back of a length or short. Buy how his good length ball is .... I would like to see. Mosher 1

Yes the vertical component which the batsman faces is much higher which is why it feels slower through the air.

And he used to bowl very short lengths - bowled a higher percentage of proper bouncers than any other bowler in the history of ball tracking(~33% - the speed gun will measure a bit lower for those lengths )
