You expect spinners to do well there. Despite that, seamers are picking majority of the wickets. Like in India, spinners pick 15 wickets and pacers 4-5. Credit for win is given to spinners, not seamers. Let me know when they pick 14-15 wickets inna test overseas. Until they are just supporting caste. Yes great stuff. Pacers hunting in packs is allowed. But spinners should pick 6fers or they are useless. Take out the spinners contribution in those games and we would have lost. Melbourne 2020 is an example. Also by the way, there are 3-4 pacers for 1 spinner. Of course they will take more wickets. But sure let me ask for 15 wickets by a spinner in SENA while being happy with 2-3 wickets per pacer. Lets forget any match where that has happened even if the matches have been listed out in this very thread. Life is so much simpler. If spinners were that that great in SENA, teams would be discussing playing 4 spinners v 4 pacers.

I agree. Spinners are NOT equal to pacers in SENA. They play an important supporting role tho. The argument that spinners have to outright win the game or i wont pick even a single one of them is ridiculous. If they play a crucial role, they have comtributed to the win. Irony is that no pacer outright contributes to a win either like a spinner does in Asia. Hunting in packs is good enough. Edited September 7, 2021 by sensible-indian Cricspin 1

If a team has 4-5 reliable pace options that can not only provide support but also increase the probability of 2-4 of the having a great game, it would make sense to move towards it. Of course, if a team encounters big spin friendly conditions, it can evaluate its options accordingly

The wickets that are picked by spinners can also be picked by a pacer if you replace that spinner with a pacer. Cant be said the same when we play at home. Think about it. Can we replace a spinner with a good seamer and it won't make much of a difference? Yes, you can most of the times but we can't when we play at home. There, we can replace a pacer with a good spinner. Can even play with just one pacer on those dust bowls or just no pacer at all on pitches like we had in Ahmedabad.

In all the wkts i showed they are taking 1/4th wkts which is what every bowler shud do ....Our pacers are not leaving wkts for spinners at home How many 10 wkts haul does ur pacer have overseas including WI ....forget 12-14-15 (ur constant goal changing post) Bumrah 0 Shami 0 Ishant -1 (only in WI ...doesnt count acc to u ) bhuvi 0 umesh 0 Kumble has 12 wkt haul in aus u knw why coz all are so good that wkts are getting shared
Lord Posted September 7, 2021 Posted September 7, 2021 Its hilarious to suggest that we lost WTC because of spinner when Ashwin was our best bowler lol Its the batsmen and seamers who failed to turn up,majorly batsmen. Even 5 pacers won't win you the game if you score 207 & 170

You obviously know a lot about cricket and its technical intricacies so I don't think I even need to explain this.
