If a team is destined to win its first T20WC, chances are it would be Aus (T20WC 2021)

Cricketing reasons: Openers are in the process of striking form. Pace bowling attack is competitive. Zampa is stepping up. Maxwell & Stoinis can be a handful with both the bat and the ball. Smith is doing well in his role as the floater.

Non cricketing reasons: Yellow could be the lucky color in 2021 :hmmm:... Next year, Aus could be destined to be both host and defending champion

Aus could have a bad game. If that happens at the group stage, would like to see how the team bounces back.

Other potentially lucky teams (it terms of potential and form, there is nothing much to seperate):

  • Eng under Captain Morgan
  • NZ as 2021 has been strong for it
  • Pak, if it does not lose steam (could be one bad game away from falling apart)
  • and so on as you cannot write any good team off in this format - AFG or NAM can surprise too

Pak is playing well much like SA in ODI WC 1999 ... Because of form and helped by conditions, guys like Asif Ali are doing a Klusener ... If Aus meets Pak in knockout, it would be interesting to see if Aus can stop one of the teams in form again

As I anticipated, Aus could have a bad game, luckily for it was against Eng, which is firing all cylinders.  Will be interesting to see how Aus bounces back!

Check  … Aus has bounced back well after its loss to Eng.

There is still Eng v SA game where SA has to win big to go past Aus and join Eng in the knockouts from this group.

At this point, Aus favorites to make it to the next stage and if it does, will be a big favorite to win the tournament as well as it plays one of its favorites (too many favorites in this sentence) Pak in the SF, and in the final, a team like Aus can be too dangerous.

Cards are being put on the table for Aus. Now up to the team to make the most of the opportunity if it goes to the next stage.

This will break some of our padosi hearts who are in cloud 9 at the moment. :laugh1:

The group of death has turned out to be one. We thought WI will make it harder, but SA if they do go out may well go with just a loss. Shows how cruel this group is. In contrast, Ind with 2 losses is hoping to miraculously go through.

Do we know where they will play? Is it the first semi? The first one is in Abu Dhabi.

Not sure as the schedule says TBC.

Since G1 played its games first, it could be G1 1 v G2 2 at AD and G1 2 v G1 1 at DSC :hmmm:
