New Proposed WC Format

We can all agree that current T20WC format is boring with so many one sided games and unfair on teams who start slow.

 

WC format should be like IPL to give all teams good chance to recover and best team over long run wins.

 

- Make it 8 teams max - these associates make games boring and dilute the competition

 

- Best 8 teams play the competition 

 

- Similar to IPL they play each other twice

 

- Length of tournament can be curtailed by having double headers on most days unlike IPL where it’s only weekends mainly

 

- have a separate 8 team competition for associates

 

- Bottom two teams from main WC get relegated and top two teams from other competition get promoted for next cycle

 

- that way every team has a lot to play for in every game

 

- playoffs similar to IPL to give an incentive to finish top two

Shouldn't be called a World Cup then 

 

FIFA World Cup also has very one sided game but world representation is important.

The minnows and smaller teams already have minimal opportunities and need to persisted with.

Even the WC2019 format was criticized and right so. It did have a lot of meaningless matches and if not for SL beating Eng would have been a borefest.

 

I say this with disappointment, world cricket has become a tad boring with a lot of teams going down. This WC showed resurgence among SA and SL, if not this would have been a total disaster of a tournament.

Lol how about giving a direct Semi Finals qualification to the Indian Team because initial rounds are so boring , the other teams would fight back for the remaining 3 Semi Final Slots. That way the interest of the Indian fans would always be preserved irrespective of the format.

you forgot to add meanwhile we will play mini ipl while other teams play to qualify for semi finals with their second xi cause their main players will be part of ipl.

We need to admit our prima donnas were absolute filth in the first two games and their attitudes stunk- so lets not blame the WC format which was agreed by BCCI as host

Format is fine.

Can't blame the Indian batsmen's lack of skill and power to hit boundaries on poor format.

These over rated "stars" couldnt even find gaps for 4s during powerplay, whilst a classified kiwi hack Daryl Mitchell is smashing boundaries.

 

India's limitation and mindset was brilliantly summed up by Rahul's ultra selfish very safe single to secure his 50 vs Scotland, when NRR was top priority.

He smashed his way to 49, and then decided to play a safe single when India needed 5 or 6 to win.

 

This mentality is sad indictment of Indian cricket where still individual milestones is more important to these players then winning for country. A team full of primma donnas.
