International T20 bilaterals are utterly meaningless. Only intent is revenue generation. You can pretty much play any random side. It is a lottery format.

I know not much is known about prithvi Raj Yarra but I remember watching him in a list A game bowling at the death he looked real gd, big strong lad, speeds were around 137-142kph not the quickest but effortless action and follow through. Khaleel a lot more superior than sakariya, nagaswallah, unadkat and co. Even someone like kulwant kejroliya had potential.

The first priority should be to find an all rounder in top 6. 

 

Second is to find a power hitter at 6 and 7 both.

 

Both the things are necessary, if the same person can do it, that is great but if not then figure out a way to fill both things. Don't go with the usual business rule that this guy has done well so will back him. Need to find options based on roles and a power hitter role at 6 and one of the top 6 being capable to bowl is extremely important.

 

Don't waste time picking Gaekwad, Agarwal or Paddikal in the squad if you have decided to go with Rahul-Rohit combo only at the top. In such cases, picking 4-5 extra openers is pointless. The same was done in Sri Lanka and it turned out to be a joke selection. Pick a middle order power hitter or an all-rounder.

Given this is logical, I expect the BCCI and TM to not do anything you have suggested at all.

The most important point you made and ALL posters in here should note and want this.

 

Is this, PLAY ALL 3 GAMES.

 

I dont want to see a single new player not play all 3 games. I dont care how bad they are, I dont care if the series is on the line, they all play. No matter what.

 

This is the series and for the next 2-3 years to give players and opportunity to build towards a winning World Cup team.
