Saha at 37 going on another SENA tour as a back keeper makes no sense at all. Would have been better to give pick Bharat or even Ishan to get them ready for the next away cycle. Plus Saha's keeping standards have gone down as was evident in the NZ series.

We haven't learnt our lessons from the previous saf tour where we selected the wrong team for the first 2 matches. Neither did we learn from the wtc final and the England tour which we were winning inspite of whom we selected. The horses for courses selection lesson is not something that they have taken cognizance of else instead of Umesh, Arzan, chahar they would have had prasidh and Saini travelling more so after the a tour over there. 

I'm not sure what the point of J yadav is other than they just wanted a like for like because axar and jadeja aren't there which isn't the right move at all. 

 

Are we playing a practise game against a first class team before the first test ? We will lose the first test if not like we generally tend to do overseas.

Kaptaan sahab doesn’t believe in the concept of tour practice games.. he rather spend half an hour in nets and then go shopping with his wife and take selfies and wish his teammates happy Birthday on Instagram.

I am lost for words, prasidh was part of the squad in the recent NZ series, he was standby in the England after avesh got injured so what has happened all over a sudden that he does not make the squad for the SA tour, he could of been released earlier for sma and picked in the A squad. Deepak chahar again jumping the line, nagaswallah would make sense in eng but not SA.

Everybody wants their fav in and least fav out. It was not fair to leave out Vihari after his Sydney act. Iyer had not played FC for two years was preferred over SKY in India. He can be considered future if he performs well in SA, but he is not a Virat or Sharma to have set the domestic fields on fire. Only possible blunder is Ishant as there are questions over fitness. Rahane is selected because of Covid time 18-squad. Prefer if Vihari or Iyer gets selected over Rajane
