Majestic Posted December 26, 2021 Posted December 26, 2021 KL Mayank/Shaw Vihari Gill S Iyer W Sundar Pant Then in the bowling dept, Axar Bumrah Siraj Prasidh/Tyagi/Avesh/ D Chahar ( all won't succeed but they are contenders) The only challenge is who will replace Ashwin. Are Kuldeep or Bishnoi good replacement for that? Norman 1

It might change in the future to 7 Batsmen 4 bowlers combination , Ashwin & Jadeja replacements also required. S Thakur is 30 and similar all rounder D Chahar is 29.
Sgattick10 Posted December 26, 2021 Posted December 26, 2021 KL Rahul Paddikal Gaekwad Gill Sundar Pant Venky (AR) / Pandya if fit and firing Bishnoi, Chahal, Yadav whoever in form Bumrah Siraj Prasidh/Tyagi/Malik/Mavi
Vijy Posted December 26, 2021 Posted December 26, 2021 My preferred all-conditions lineup: Shaw/Agarwal [need to have one dasher opening; even if not technically the most sound] KLR/Jaiswal Vihari/Gaekwad Gill/S. Iyer [Gill should play in middle order, not open] Sundar/Sarfaraz [solid game against 2nd new ball + solid against spin] Sarfaraz is an underrated bat, IMO Pant/Bharat Thakur/V. Iyer/?? [this position is a big issue] Axar/?? [need a backup spinner who can bat] Kuldeep/Mavi/R. Chahar/Nagarkoti [all three are off the boil, but all are serious talents] Bumrah Siraj/Prasidh Batting till 9. And 6 bowling options. backups for each position present as well
rkt.india Posted December 28, 2021 Posted December 28, 2021 At 6, we need a batting alrounder, then Pant and four bowlers.

Hard to think of many batting ARs. Mankad had an avg of about 40 when opening - he and Shastri (in late part of career) are the only who come immediately to mind.
Prabhdeep Singh Posted December 28, 2021 Author Posted December 28, 2021 Washington Sundar can be developed at 6 as a batting all rounder but needs do show potential in Ranji Trophy coming up. Vijy 1

onx3 Posted December 29, 2021 Posted December 29, 2021 Hi, new poster, I think more so then just replacements for the batting, we need to look at where we can improve the whole squad first. We have a ageing squad, that also lacks key elements. If we had those basis covered, the change of batting for the next generation could take place more smoothly. Rohit, Pujara, Kohli, Rahane, Ashwin, Shami, jaddu, Ishant, yadav, are the core of the squad that need replacing over next 2/3 years. Questions our domestic circuit needs to ask? Where is our leggie? Wheres our offie to take over from ashwin. Can they also bat no8? Wheres our fast bowling genuine alrounder i.e stokes? Wheres our left arm fast bowler? Wheres our 6ft5 seamer with pace and height after ishant? Currently we really only have KL, Gill, Pant, Bumrah, Siraj, Vihari that i see being here in 5 years. Being honest shaw, iyer clearly have glarring technical issues, be it swing or bounce but if those players are who we are groming, then we need the above parts of the team to be much stronger. We lose the dept that 7 and 8 jadd/ash give us when at home, and jaddu at 7 away from home when they gone. I dont see bishnoi, axar, kuldeep etc batting 7 in our order and still feel pant is 1 position to high at 6 away from home. Away tests Opener Opener Vihari Gill KL rahul Allrounder Pant Spinner Fast bowler Bumrah Siraj tweaker 1
