What would be the Competitive Target for SA in the Final Test ?

"competitive" is not the same as 'winning'.

Even 220 would be competitive.  I think 270+ could be winning.  Most fans are going to want closer to or past 300 to feel comfortable.

Anything short of 250 and SA will feel good about their chances.  Right now even 200 is looking distant for India.  I feel for India to win, we need to somehow score 260 at least.  A 275 target should be enough for our bowlers to somehow find a way to 10 wickets.  Umesh in Siraj's place is a hit - Siraj is much more accurate and tighter than Umesh, and tends to take wickets in pairs.  We are missing him this test match; as we did in the previous one.

If India gives a target of

100-175 I would say SA are clear favorites

175-250 SA are favs with India having a slight chance

250-320: India are the favs with SA having a slight chance

320+ India should win comfortably

I think it depends how quickly India can get Elgar and Peterson out. These two are pillars around which SA bat.  If you get both of them inside 10 then I am confident with India defending even 180.

I also think if the pitch gets better as the game progresses then India up against it no matter what.

I saw some turn in the deck yesterday and there was some purchase for Ash today though he did not pick a wicket. So if that is magnified in the fourth innings I feel Ash might be the trump card.

No target would be competitive if one of our fast bowlers keeps getting injured in every test.

In addition to our batsmen getting injured lol They will all magically be available for the IPL full season.
