A guy low 30 FC avg is not good enough in my view, but he is going to get his chances soon.I will be happy to be proven wrong about him,. Yes England have changed the template but that template will not work evey where as evidenced by their two losses already. They just got lucky with tosses last time around. Not everyone is going to be successful everywhere. Ajinkya Rahane came into team with an FC average of 58 something. Turned out to be utterly mediocre cricketer overall. Raina on the other hand came while averaging around 43, played an awesome role for us in many T20 & ODI campaigns lower down the order...including those 2 crucial knocks in ODI WC 2011.

Great players are going to be successful everywhere. Rahane will tell I won the biggest test series in Indian team history that too as a captain and scored 100 after my team was all all out for 36. I am not against Abhishek or any young player.I hope He does really well for Indian team. But this nonsense which some morons keep repeating here about a great player is irritating.

I don't think many will argue about Kohli in Tests or ODI's. It's just T20's where his style of play is getting outdated. Specially in this WC where powerplay is so important. Poor Jaiswal has to sit on the bench for the whole tournament, while at this age itself Kohli was playing 2011 ODI WC alongside seniors like Sachin, Viru, Yuvraj, MSD etc Had Jaiswal played at the top, followed by Kohli at 3 and Dube out of XI. The criticism would have been less...coz Jaiswal's game is what we need in this T20 WC to maximize the powerplay. Our stupid selectors wasted another opportunity to develop Jaiswal's bowling ability. That would have made Dube irrelevant. Edited June 27, 2024 by singhvivek141 Sandz 1
Adamant Posted June 27, 2024 Posted June 27, 2024 Those idiots who watch IPL and think yeah this is the greatest t20 hitter ever get a reality check everytime in world cup, Dubey is the recent fascination, his real quality was displayed in this world cup against world class bowling attacks. In before low iq posters start mentioning kohli, your PAPA Kohli has been the best t20 batter for India in the past.

Just one then all past failures will be forgiven.. But if he fails .......ooooh man..will be brutal for this guy.

Kron Posted June 29, 2024 Posted June 29, 2024 One game dude. One game. Can he do it? I really don't think so. Why? Cause he was never good enough.

singhvivek141 Posted June 29, 2024 Posted June 29, 2024 Dube and Jadeja should wash Kohli's feet everyday. Because of him, they are able to escape the criticism. Dube ji has found a place for Zimbabwe T20's as well.... Ajit Agarkar is as useless as MSK Prasad with his selections. All those sensible discussions on cricinfo makes no sense now. As they say, actions speak louder than words. Kron 1

It boggles my mind that Dube is selected for Zim tour despite this shyte show and someone like Venkatesh Iyer who's better than Dube in batting, bowling and fielding is not. There seems to be a clear KKR bias in selection as none of the deserving KKR players have gotten into the team. Likes of Venky, Varun C, Harshit Rana and Iyer have all been ignored despite performances in IPL, and despite having more upside than that fraud Dube. Agarkar has been as shyte as the previous regime with no backing of young players, and absolutely no eye for talent. When someone picks Dube ahead of Rinku, and ignores likes of Abhishek and Parag it says all. Edited June 29, 2024 by Ultimate_Game singhvivek141 1

Dube was failing badly even in IPL once the selections tor WT20 announced, yet no one bothered to ask about the replacement. Mukesh Kumar was another one who was backed by this mgmt over the hill in all 3 formats, he was such a flop show that they have to bring Akashdeep from outside and play in the XI straight away. Yet the same Mukesh Kumar will again play in Zim T20's. Avesh Khan is another such example who has been a flop show entirely in T20's, but was selected even for the WT20 team. Ultimate_Game 1

Watching the Team India selections it's clear you've a leg up if you play for certain franchises (CSK, MI, RCB) - case in point selections of Dube, Tilak Varma, Patidar. OTOH franchises such as RR and KKR are the other end of spectrum where performers such as Venky, Varun C, Harshit, Abhishek, Nattu, Parag, Jurel etc. have a harder time getting selected. Agarkar has been absolutely useless so far, and his biases are clearly showing.

Avesh gets in all the time whereas someone like Harshit is not selected despite performing much better than Avesh. Akash Deep despite a stellar debut against England is nowhere to be found. Agarkar has been such a joke with his selections. singhvivek141 1
