1. Chennai Super kings - 11

2. Mumbai Indians - 9

3. Royal Challengers Bangalore - 8

4. Sunrisers Hyderabad/Deccan Chargers- 8

5. Kolkata knight Riders - 7

6. Delhi Capitals - 6

7. Rajasthan Royals - 4

8. Punjab Kings - 2

 

* The new teams, Gujarat Lions/Titans (2016,22) have qualified twice in playoffs while Lucknow(2022) and Pune(2017) also have qualified once.

Surprisingly or not, Royal Challengers Bangalore have qualified to playoffs most number of times (8) after Chennai Super kings(11) and Mumbai Indians(9) but they are yet to win their first IPL trophy.

 

They also qualified to final thrice which is third to CSK(9)and MI (6) and same number of times to KKR(3), SRH/Deccan chargers combined(3). Rajasthan Royals, Delhi Capitals and Punjab Kings have all reached IPL finals once.

GL and GT are not the same team. One was a temp team based out of Rajkot, while the other is a permanent team based out of Amdavad … Clubbing then together would be like clubbing Mumbai & Pune together coz they are in Maharashtra

Also remember csk and RR were not in the competition for two years thanks to bambani 

 

so this stat may be even better if you use  percentage

 

impressive that csk have only missed playoffs 2 times since IPL started

Could be that we may have some another script than RR winning this game. The script be like Tewatia vs Mcoy in the final overs and Tewatia smacking the West Indian in death overs.

RCB knocked out of the playoffs in their 8th playoff qualification too, most by any team to not win a trophy.

 

DC has 6 playoff qualification and Punjab has two.
