an avg of 23 is good in any format 

So he is not a good spinner coz he cant bat and field .

His good performances in international games were overlooked as he had a poor IPL. But the same yardstick was not applied to Kishan or Kohli. Deserved to be in the squad at-least. His left handedness, height and bowling ability are  plus points. Hope they pick him again when a regular picks up an injury.

chahal is a **** bowler. i have seen him fail vs good teams too often. we will regret picking this guy especially in australia. he is a mediocre spinner. 

kuldeep is much more talented but he cowers like a b when he gets hit. 

we just dont have any quality spin talent. 

ash has been thrashed many times in LOI so he doesnt cut it either. 

 

we dont have one spinner of the quality of hasaranga or even zampa.

Chahal is better than Zampa. 

 

Secondly, can you tell me who you will play in place of Chahal, which pacer do you think can outperform him? 

 

I would agree with you on replacing spinner only if we had a real good pacer apart from Bumrah and Bhuvi.

In Australia. I am 100% sure prasidh tyagi and even umran would outbowl him comfortably there. This is apart from booms and bhuvi. Ummie though with his new action and stuff is questionable now. If he goes back to bowling 145-155 and utilises bounce etc he will outperform yuzi too.

We just don't have quality spinners for Aussie conditions in loi. Period. Hasaranga is way better than any of the spinners we have. Zampa has a good record in Australia. 

Also india can't afford to have too many tail enders. Bumrah chahal bhuvi  and shami. That's pretty much 4 tail enders. 

Unless chahar plays then ok.

Hasaranga's economy in Australia is 10.91 in 4 matches.  Yuzi has played 3 matches in Australia. In one match he was the man of t he match

Ashwin had a great odi world cup last time in Australia but you could argue that the role of finger spinners like him has diminished even more since that time. Ones who dart it in like Santner and Agar are the only ones who still manage to find a place.
