Shane Watson averages 32 with a strike rate of 141 in T20s (151 matches) - just to put things in perspective. Raina averages 34.55 @ 141 from 200 T20s.

Exactly. Gayle will hardly be seen as a legend in any format. Maybe, the greatest entertainer for RCB, but that's it.

Gayle is pretty much finished in intl cricket but during his prime and for most years of his 13 year old careers he has fared very well in all formats. An avg of 38 @85 with 8k+ runs in odis,41 avg in test with almost 7k runs is a pretty successful career for any batsman.add to that his extraordinary t20 record

T20 Internationals 45 Matches 1406 Runs 35.15 Average 142.59 Strike Rate 1 Century T20 (All) 206 Matches 7397 Runs 42.02 Average 147.99 Strike Rate 14 Centuries Those T20 (All) stats are quite amazing.

Huh? The post I had quoted talked about Gayle's performances in international cricket, and I specifically provided the stats for T20 Internationals. Gayle is an even bigger monster when you consider all T20s. His Twenty20 (all) stats are incomparable. Shane Watson averages 26 @ 143, Raina averages 32 @ 135 in T20Is. I don't see anyone averaging as much as Gayle at as good a strike rate. He's clearly the best T20 bat ever.

He is like SRT of T20 cricket.

Gayle has scored runs allover the world, not just RCB. He has 100 for most teams he has played. Also, on other brings the fear factor that Gayle does in bowlers. The brutality his batting has can break any bowler.
