Never supported Harshal. Even when he was named in squad, I opposed it. Don't cook up stories. Avesh yes, but his drop was inevitable. We would've looked better if Bumrah was available, but how can one not see us scoring 190+ consistently for almost an year.

As if we dint scored 190 before. As i said gazallion number of time before biletral T20 is for building team bringing new players as no team other than pak and may be indian stats padders like Hahul and others take this seriously. Talk to me when we consistently score that in wc. We saw how good that Orange cap holder and stats master performed while chasing 160. If it's not for old Kohli brilliance we were well set for humilitation. I am not sure how come no one recognise this after last T20 wc humiliation and Asia Cup thrashing.

Hahul was mostly injured. Even Rohit missed many series. We used most of those for building bench as you said should be the case. Out of them Ruturaj, Pant, Kishan, and to a lesser extent, Iyer, failed. DK was persisted with. Only batsmen they should've backed is Venkatesh. We were almost never full strength.

What else can one ask for. He gets brickbats but this has been one of the best phases by any team in limited overs history. 

 

We have been brilliant with strategies throughout the tournament, even though we were luck. 

 

1. Axar promotion today worked. Earlier worked a group stage match as well. 

2. Axar and Jadeja together makes no sense generally. But on those test cricket pitches, we needed it.

3. You always talk about intent. We were intent with playing risky cricket thorought. 

 

If not for Klassen blinder, this match was all ours.

1. You guys always talk about moving away from old players. Yet to fail to see how we did it successfully with Saha, Umesh, Bhuvi, and Ishant. Dhawan and Pujara were were persisted with for some time, but they also had bigger legacies. Common, give him the credit. 

 

2. You talk about attacking batting. We have been doing it for quite a while. 

 

3. During Kohli-Shastri time, they were criticized for not backing their players. Now we have seen enough backing of players-- Iyer, SKY, Rahul, Dube (I know). There is a management who backs players during tough time as well. People, on the other hand, end up blaming them for the players' failure. Failing players is not TM's fault. 

 

4. And lastly, you criticize him for not dropping Kohli, Rohit (for whatever reason). Rohit is a part of the selection panel itself, and Kohli is Star Sports favourite guy, how do you drop them? 

 

Whenever a selection fails, you blame him and not the selectors (we don't know much of influence one has over selections). 

But when it succeeds, no one credits him (Gill, Siraj, Arshdeep, Jurel).
