1. Deepak chahar - need to prove his fitness first
2. Umran malik
3. Avesh Khan 
4. Shardul thakur - doesnt look like on radar but he can be with harshal injury
5. Siraj - not on radar
6. Nattu - i think he is injured again
7. Mohsin - not on radar

2 out of them shud be picked

It's between Siraj & D Chahar...  Rest are not in contention.  Thakur has a outside chance in case someone loses his mind.

like for like

harshal was a death specialist , nattu was another guy plus his skill level this IPL improved massively with new ball (so basically he was becoming almost an all phase bowler )

I remember siraj wasnt backed by dravid even before his horror IPL this yr , which makes me doubt that

Although i wud want siraj , since i rate him the best among all new ones and an all phase bowler . 

 

Loosing out on harshal batting can actually mean door for shardul and chahar but chahar is a new phase option so anyways he already had a solid chance as bhuvi backup. With harshal gone now they ll look for middle-death phase option backup .

Arshdeep is miles better with new ball. We are already carrying excess bowlers. One had to be dropped, now we don't to.

extra ?? In Aus ull have to carry 5 seamers since 3 will be in XI so need to 2 on bench for sure . Unless they plan to take some as net bowlers

Arshdeep now looks more locked , so its options beyond lock ones

They got Arshdeep for that...  Deepak Chahar can share new ball.  Bumrah can bowl 1 in PP.  Three in middle overs like he does sometimes for MI.

Harshal was relatively an inform bowler but Ind has serviceable backups. 

If Ind wants a competitive or even a better option, it should field Moshin, but going for better is probably not what Ind does until it is left with no other option.

Pecking order should be

Siraj>Chahar>Umran

Others are very improbable

Arshdeep was anyway better in bowling. 

 

They have to get someone who can bat. Any only options are Deepak and Thakur.

 

Would prefer Arshdeep and trust Bhuvi at 8.

I actually don't think there would be many spots in 15. Yes for 18, we would need to look for a replacement option.

 

Bumrah, Bhuvi , Arshdeep and Deepak Chahar ( if fit and doing well) are my four options but we need someone more as backup. Umran, Avesh are most likely candidate with an outside chance of Siraj for that one option. I would have liked to see a bit of Mohsin too. He has got proper skills like Bhuvi, Arshdeep and Bumrah and all phase bowler.

Some of the other teams are more street smart when it comes to bringing in suitable inform players.

Team has to think more in terms of players who can win a tournament not necessarily who can do a “job”.

Mohsin, right? Yeah that is Shami level slogging but anyways for a fifth pace bowling option, I would have liked to see a bit of Mohsin( atleast in Zimbabwe).

 

The fifth option would anyways not feature in 15 and it will be max in 18 so nothing wrong in having Mohsin and it gives an option in case of any sudden injury to Arshdeep.
