As a bowler yes he is a compromise as compare to Arshdeep, Chahar but so is jadeja/Axar...............which is why i still consider him Economy close to 9. Other analysis is worthless in such cases. I would play Ash at 7 if he solves the left-handers problem. Give up on batting front. Edited August 7, 2022 by Chakdephatte

But for that our top 6 need to be very good. As things stand, we gonna have Kohli and Pant in top 6. And with our aggressive approach, we do need a better bat imo. I dnt think Pant has a space in the team if KLR is fit. If you see Rohit kohli pandya sky dk Jadeja is fixed. Leaving one spot for KLR pant hooda Iyer Samson to fill in

Majestic Posted August 7, 2022 Posted August 7, 2022 Ultimately Jadeja will get a go because Axar will have issues with his bowling. Hooda's batting will not be good enough to give him a place as specialist bat and Jadeja's stats as batsman in last two years has been pretty good. Also, the fielding aspect too. Lord 1
Majestic Posted August 7, 2022 Posted August 7, 2022 DK in T20Is after IPL 2022:- Matches 14, AVG 22, S/R 133 Not that good tbh. Expected better average by being not out which isn't the case.

Give up on batting front. im not saying he is a good bowler, im saying he is decent bowler + value added player in right condition that eco is a combination of all condition but Wc is just one tournament in one condition See the diff , longer ground , two pace or spungy wkt or extra pace n bounce ..................number changes

Chakdephatte Posted June 27, 2024 Author Posted June 27, 2024 Axar turning the game in India's favour. While the batting depth we get with playing two all-rounders is useful for 5-6 balls.

Number 6 does not face enough balls in T20s and below 6, they get to bat in rare cases only. Hence, it does not make a big difference. On flatter pitches, the effect of depth is hardly felt, in New York though, it was necessary.

Early wickets can always fall when you are attacking so its nice to have some depth. Otherwise you have to play cautious even in T20
Nikhil_cric Posted June 29, 2024 Posted June 29, 2024 Batting depth is the single most crucial component of any white ball side.

The batting depth is an insurance, it may not be needed always but when in need, the absence is most felt.

As a result players should be able to make informed choices based on logic and data and not purely on gut. My theory is that once they come to ground, their instincts kick in. See Kohli this match, he was trying to be attacking whole tournament, but what happened today. Batting depth is same. 8 hours ago, Nikhil_cric said: Batting depth is the single most crucial component of any white ball side. No. My above post is enough. Anyway, India played better in world cup when Hardik Pandya was injured and we went with specialist players. Shami alone covered up for the lack of depth. 3 hours ago, singhvivek141 said: The batting depth is an insurance, it may not be needed always but when in need, the absence is most felt. That's perfect.

Nikhil_cric Posted June 29, 2024 Posted June 29, 2024 Dube 175 strike rate. Kohli 104. Kohli fans conspicuous by their absence
