Looking at the selected specialist batsmen, apart from Sarfraz and Tilak, most others are unlikely to play more than 3 to 4 tests, if that.

Tilak Verma has some x-factor though and he may improve in FC after a couple of years if he focuses on how he handles the channel ball.

Where is Prithvi Shaw ??

Prithvi has been one of the leaders , probably he may be injured or may be resting. i am sure they would not have dropped him, it could be rested as he could play for India team soon.

Among the selected left arm seamers,  only Mukesh Kumar interests me somewhat. He can move the ball at sharpish pace and has a low FC average.

But Nargaswalla is as average as they come and Dayal can't sustain pace in FC. Don't know why they are selected !!

Mukesh Kumar is right armer

So ....

They are trying to develop future pacers for test matches

But

3 of the 5 selected pacers lack pace

3 of the 5 selected pacers lack height

Only 1 selected pacer has both pace and height.

Where is Kuldeep Sen ??

We desperately need some big players in the selection committee who understand the needs of international cricket.

Basically they go with stats like nerds like most do here, where are the scouts?

Tyagi all of a sudden has fallen off the radar, maybe he is injured again? If not why he isn't in scheme of things not even plays with UP side regularly

Rinku too looked solid as MO batsman, has an all round game can play both red and white ball cricket, livewire in the field

This Nagwaswalla dude probably has some high level connections.  He is a a Parsi so highly possible as they are a influential community.

Overall I still don't know how come selectors have forgotten about Tyagi?  From being a net bowler for India couple of years ago in Australia...  He looks like has been wiped off the planet Earth.  I seriously feel so bad about this guy

He is in West Zone Duleep team , so not injured.

Also saw a pick of last week where he is sweating it out at NCA.

Points to most probably a strict message from above to pass fitness and only then he will be selected.

Sleepy at night and mixed him with Mukesh Choudhary.

Mukesh Kumar is an almost 29 year old trundler. Probably bowls 125 k in his later spells.

Horrible selection !

Tyagi is such a top talent.

I don't know how he is being ignored.

Ganguly had brought Waqar Younis when talent search was going on for Bengal pacers. Ranadeb Bose was the bowling coach.

After watching a  lot of guys bowl, Waqar was not impressed. But Bose thought that Mukesh Kumar had something in him. (  Basically he thought that Mukesh would be the ideal Vinay Kumar type Ranji trundler who would do well in domestics )

Waqar found it hard to believe that this trundler was being supported. But finally okayed his selection after Bose insisted.

Even in Bengal, Akashdeep and Porel are held in much higher esteem compared to Mukesh Kumar. I don't think even Mukesh's family believe that he is test material. But Chetan Sharma and Co. do. They are just looking at more recent Ranji performances to pick the fringe players without looking at other factors.

If they wanted to pick someone from WB, that should have been Akashdeep. Faster, taller and a good FC bowler.

Is Kartik Tyagi injured ?

Why is everyone forgetting him ?

And yes, Akashdeep is much better than Mukesh and Arzan.

Any news on Kartik Tyagi ?

He is fit and fine. He needs to play for UP. Only then they will look at him.
