There is an other charismatic mega fauna the Asiatic lion. Many eminent scientists in the field vouched for transferring a few if them to a second population outside Gir. Mp was chosen, at that time Narenda modi was Gujrat PM he opposed and delayed it. SC gave a verdict to implement this and save the lions, but one Modi became PM he bullied everyone and stopped it. Not sure how many votes this will influence though. I hope the Cheetahs find a home in India. Good to have diversity in animals. Cannot force nature though. Rajasthan has several protected wildlife sanctuaries & National Parks like in Sariska, Ranthambore... BJP out of petty politics didn't opt for Rajasthan. Their most hated party is in power, so har ek cheez ko kachara banao politically like what politicians do.
