cricketfan28 Posted November 15, 2022 Posted November 15, 2022 okay, lets see how far they dominate, I don't think they will win the wc next year, and t20 has always been a lottery format.
putrevus Posted November 16, 2022 Posted November 16, 2022 Poms won 2019 world cup by sheer luck and they got very lucky with venues and toss for semis and finals. They are not unbeatable. Put those players on spinning and fast tracks they will fall like ninepins. England always are eager to blow their own trumpet. express bowling 1

LOIs are not being played on such tracks anymore, so you should give up on proclaiming these hypotheticals. we will not see any T20 or ODI WCs in near-future that occur on such tracks. eng also knows this, which is why they load up with high-risk high-reward batters eng are indeed good at hyping. I am not proclaming anything based on hypothethicals.England got beat by Ireland during chase of 160 . You are wrong again in LOIs 2019 world cup knockouts were played on tracks where bowlers had lot of chances .241 was good enough for tie with the same England team.220 was good enough to beat India. Even in this t20 world cup there were no high scoring flat tracks. 160 was defendable score in many matches. One dimesional Indian team cannot play high risk cricket with Axar patel batting at number 6. Edited November 16, 2022 by putrevus

Trust me even if you borrow England's middle and lower middle order in our team our top 3 will play low risk cricket only. Don't fool into believing they are capable of high risk batting. Maybe Kela can but he is too selfish so he won't. Rohit and kohli just aren't capable. Suhaan, express bowling and Sgattick10 1 2

But they performed upto expectations in every tournament since 2017 CT. Haven't missed playoffs like Us and Australia did. This time, winning without Archer (best bowler) and Bairstow (best batsman) means something.

See , Rohit in odis and Kohli in both white ball formats have been finishers for their teams for decade plus. Will they be able to adapt to new style of batting, you may be right they might not be able to adapt but those guys were never affroded that luxury all thru their careers. If they failed matches were lost. India were 18/2 in 2011 finals and won going away. Do you think these two have been afforded that luxury. Don't include useless Rahul and top 3 , he never was good enough in any crunch match.

India also performed upto expectation with one dimensional team in all formats, They went to knockouts in every tournament in all formats last t20. England missed playoff in ICC test championship which India did not miss. England got lucky in 2019 and that gives confidence to any team. That luck has been missing for team India. Maybe Dhoni used all India's luck in 2007 and 2013.

In Last 4 T20 world cups 11 out of 12 knock out games were won by team chasing. 1 of them was SL winning 2014 SF against WI by D/L when WI needed 80 off 37 which was also achievable. So till the time we are not getting chance to chase in T20 World Cup knockouts, we are not winning it. For some reason T20s have started favoring chasing teams. Edited November 17, 2022 by Number

This WC was not high-scoring, but was not low-scoring as well - low scoring would be <140 IMO on a consistent basis. in the future, I foresee more pattas
Khota Posted November 18, 2022 Posted November 18, 2022 Agreed 100%. T20 is a very specialized sport and needs its own coach, mindset and support staff.
