I would recommend to plan for 7 bowling options.... 5-6 should be proper batters who can roll their arm for 4-6 overs. 7-8 we expect them to be able to contribute 25-45 runs with bat and 7-10 overs with ball. Pandya, Washington, Jadeja, Tewatia, Bawa, Rinku, Hangargekar should be in that 5-8 bracket...rotated as and when needed. Shahbaz and Axar are other options. 9-11 we will have flexibility to choose a) 3 pacers amongst Bumrah, Siraj, Kuldeep Sen, Umran, Tyagi, Mohsin OR b) 2 pacers + 1 Spinner (Bishnoi, Kuldeep Yadav) depending on conditions and 5-8 combo.

One scenario I can think about prefering 7th bowling option is SENA where we can only afford 3 genuine pace bowlers due lack of genuine pace bowl AR..to strengthen batting we may need finger spinner ARs and have extra swing bowling 7th option trundler like..Sanjay Bangar that will give us batting till 8th..and bowling options like.. 3 genuine pace bowlers+1 trundler (batting AR)who may use swing conditions 2 reliable spinner ARs if we can somehow get 1 genuine pacer to bat well..we will be a great force who can play 4 genuine pacers.. else jugaadbaazi hi krte rhenge with spinning ARs..batting trundlers etc Edited December 29, 2022 by Need4Speed

Candidates for thd future would be Mohsin, Bawa, Arjun and Hangargekar. This combo maybe needed in some LOIs too. Mosher and Need4Speed 2

tweaker Posted December 29, 2022 Posted December 29, 2022 Rahul Tewatia and Venkatesh Iyer should have got more opportunityBoth Rahul and Venkatesh are left handed batsman and both could have bowled 10 overs between them.

Why was Venkatesh Iyer dropped? He just went out of contention for no reason even after doing well in internationals.

His role should have been diffrent from Pandya. As he is left handed and he can bat at any position. He would have been handy as fifth seamer in.Ireland,England, Zimbabwe,West Indies
