When Samson did well in NZ ODIs, why did they not include him?

In ODIs, Sanju has done well but he doesn't get picked for the SL ODIs. This guy, Chetan Sharma doesn't know what he is doing.

In NZ ODIs, Iyer and Sundar did well. Openers were slow.

I think SKY is in place of him. SKY has this X factor something nobody else has. So he needs a run.

He is not going anywhere. He is there under the pretext of "backup wicket keeper" who can open.

very true.  As much as I am also frustrated with him, that guy has just so much batting ability and skill, but repeatedly goes through long poor patches.  Its a testament to his lack of mental strength.  Players with half his ability have made careers 5x better than his.

KLR is curse to Indian cricket. Perennial loser this guy is.

I think he has been pigeon-holed as a keeper, so he loses out to Pant on talent alone. TM will have to look at him as a pure batsman in order for him to get a run. However some of the other pure batsmen are also considered talented, and those slots are equally competitive to get.

too much competition in MO. the mentally fragile Kela takes up a slot, and Pandu takes one more and so will Jaddu/Sundar. that leaves little for pant, samson, SKY, Iyer.
