vvvslaxman Posted January 13, 2023 Posted January 13, 2023 I sense this could become a 2019, 2021, 2022 repeat. Once again they will go with a wrong team and get kicked out in crucial game. These are experienced losers. Vk1 and Texan 2

Litton das put down a sitter in Bangladesh. Kohli scratched around and scored a 100. Here he got 2 lives as well. He joined on the back of a big opening stand on a road. He will be rendered useless by spinners. INdia's biggest weakness oflate has been spin. I know it, you know it. Does TM/Media know it? They would even bring Dhawan if possible. Oldies like Gavasakar were certain that Dhawan will be in WC23 squad last month ahead of Kishan and Gill. Edited January 13, 2023 by wanted_desi
vvvslaxman Posted January 15, 2023 Posted January 15, 2023 So this debate will continue given that Rahul is not going anywhere. kohli is set till 2027 world cup :) SKY should have been promoted today. Indian team management purposely sent him late i think. Anyway it is good to see Iyer being tried as a spinner he bowls leggies to right handers and off spin to lefties. If he hones this he can be like livingstone for us. diehardpacer 1
tapandrun Posted January 16, 2023 Posted January 16, 2023 (edited) Sky looked in hurry in all the Odis he played, looks like he is trying to replicate what he has done and achieved in T20s. On the other hand S.Iyer has looked calm, build innings, support the other batter, even with short-comings with short and bouncers he has been able to manage his innings in ODIs. And has played the rescue act more than any batter in Ind team in recent past. With Sky's high risk approach he needs to add another suite to his cricket, his style is not suited to the current setup of Ind batting order, his batting style is suited only if every batter is trying to hit the ball and build their inning on higher SR. Also Ind TM will never use him in top 4. if he plays then KL will bat no.4. More than often we will find Ind batting trying to rebuild than trying to push through and given that I think S.Iyer is better and more reliable in doing that at no.4 than KL. Ind should try V.Iyer who could contribute with ball (3-4 over), gives left handed option, able to open and play lower down and should be able to handle leg spinners well.
