Lol Barber Azam can't play an inning like Rohit against Muzarbanni, Sipmala and Douglas Hondo. Did you forget rohit 171 against starc, Cummins and Hazelwood. BTW in the same wc where barbar scored 1 century rohit scored 5 and one against Pakistan which saved us from humiliation. Have you taken PP paid subscription lately!!!!.

171 was against Boland, Joel Paris,Hazlweood, Faulkner.  First 2 were debutants. His great innings was 138(139) at MCG in that tri series against Eng-Aus in 2015. Even then Cummins was inexperienced and another guy was Gurinder Sandhu who never played for Australia. Still it was great knock.. Everywhere else he has struggled. Who can forget that clueless batting against Steyn in 2013 just coming after scoring 200 against Australia at home..

Your facts are incorrect.

Rohit 171 of 163 balls which ultimately ended in losing cause because of his tuk tuk batting was against Hazelwood, Paris, Faulkner , Marsh etc. It was a series where Australia fielded B team and still won 4-1 with the only win coming when our second greatest fielder hit a match winning century.

Gobar Azam on other hand already has a hundred vs Starc, Cummins and Hazelwood. Averaging 60 is not joke especially when your runs tally is 4000+.

Yes, I remember Rohit Sharma batting against Steyn in 2013.

He was so clueless that he replied back saying,

"Come to India"! :phehe: Then commies mentioned that last time when Steyn was in India, he didn't do too bad in Ahmedabad Test as he got India bowled out at 70 odd.

That was proper stat padding series for top 3...They shamelessly stat padded in this series against pedestrian attack (Paris,Hastings,Boland) and Smith and co chased down everytime without breaking a sweat.

Yeah, that "come to India" was during test series. Before that in ODI series ,1st ODI- We were chasing 360 and Commies and Indian analysts in innings break were like it will be easy for Indian top order as they had chased it down in flat pancakes in India 1 month back against Australia. Steyn and co bamboozled our batting order,Rohit could not even put a bat on ball for 20+ balls..

And the next time Steyn did come to India his career ended in Mohali injured during the first(second?) innings, just sayin:pop2:

He never played a full series after that!

Babar is a quality ODI batsman with amazing consistency.  He is not a poor man's Amla. Has performed in World Cup 2019 and scored more runs than Kohli there.

With an average of 60 and consistent performance vs top teams also, he is definitely on his way to become an ODI ATG.

Even Sharma when he dominated Australia in ODIs in 2016, the bowling attack would read Boland, Marsh, Faulkner, Paris etc and the result would end in a losing cause. Just having more gears is not enough if you will tuk tuk for first 75 runs of yours which is what Rohit does.

https://www.espncricinfo.com/series/india-tour-of-australia-2015-16-895801/australia-vs-india-1st-odi-895807/full-scorecard

Highly ignorant post.

In the same world Cup, Shakib outscored Kohli by a country mile. Doesn't mean he's better than him or Rohit. Babar is a solid batter in ODIs where strike rate can be a forgiving for a better like him but to mention him in the same breath as Viv, Sachin, ABD, Sachin is just laughworthy.

He only has one or two great knocks in his 7 year long ODI career. Tells you everything about his so called stats and consistency.

Bruh what a worst example lol. This was one of the worst ODI hundreds that i ever saw. Pak were chasing 370 and gobar was playing selfishly prodding along at a strike rate of 80 for the most part on an absolute pancake.

Rohit 138 was against stark and Cummins btw Faulkner, hazzlewood Mars were not noob in aus condition. Babar Azam century against aus was the most selfish century where sharzil was playing at high sr and thi guy was scoring selfishly. Rohit 138 against aus was one of the greatest century ad it came against in peak Starc. Lol at barber most of his scores are against f grade attack even the century against aus was most selfish as they had to chase more than 330 and he played selfishly. Only a Pakistani would say Babar is better than rohit as per them even Babar is better than Sachin.

Why you are talking about test cricket. Rohit has schooled Steyn many time in ODIs. In odi Rohit fear no one, he can hit Steyn left , right and center. Steyn has habbit of mocking everyone. I have seen Steyn mocking Hafeez in test and than Hafeez single handedly won loi after that and bullied Steyn while doing so. No one is saying Rohit is great in test but in odi gobar is not fit enough to shine his shoe. BTw would you take barbar before rohit in your playing xi.

Yes that 171 was against hazzlewood, Boland and Faulkne and Marsh but these bowlers are not noob in Austrailian condition. Axar Patel bullied eng in home test but can he do same in English condition. BTW last i saw Bolland just bullied sa and look at his avg he is not atrash bowler. Rohit 138 was definitely one of the best inning in aus as he batted against peak starc. Starck was in his best form during that time and I believe he took hatrick as well in that match along with 6 wkt in that match.

Well obviously Rohit is anyday better than Babar which other poster is discussing and that's not some achievement. Yeah Boland is better red ball player than white ball and I doubt he played any white ball cricket after that..Yeah Starc was in red hot form during that time, took 6 wickets in that match and later won wc for his team..

Yes i also mentioned before Rohit and Ponting are not in same breadth. Ponting was comparable to Sachin and Lara though not at their level in complete batsmenship but much much ahead of Rohit along the format. I only got pissed off when someone said barber is better batsmen than Rohit in odi.

Barber beiber is not even close to Sehwag level let alone rohit in odi.

Sehwag who himself was underrated in odi.

In tests Sehwag is light years ahead of barber.

It's a travesty.

Barber has andaa 100s in sena against full strength attacks in a match winning cause.

I sure remember he made a century in a game where Stark was in red hot form took 5 fer against us inspite that Rohit scored a sparkling century. I believe it was 138 other than him only Raina scored a 50 from India. stark took a 6 fer in that game.

Rohit made 119 against strac, hazalwood & Cummins in india .it was series decider 3rd odi.

Yes and 138 was also great as it came against peak stark. Though we lost but that inning was really great.

That's not really an achievement in bilaterals which is what my point is. Babar also has and so does Rohit. Ofcourse Babar is young so you can expect him to produce more such knocks.

At the end of the day, Babar averages 60 which definitely puts him as the best ODI batsman in the world and he is only 28. Rohit's peak was great but his career average isn't great.

Babar mostly play against C bowling attack. Most of sena team play with B team against Pakistan.

Babar azam is a better ODI batsman than Rohit. Let's get back to the topic. Methinks Ponting is better than Rohit. Rohit scores a lot of soft runs and can only bat at one position.
